First Tries--Who let the Dogs P**P
Got my 901 kit. Watched the vid's and read the forum a bunch. Knew it would not taste like smoke. Slapped in a cart, gave a puff. Lights lit, vapor curled...Good God, it tasted like apricots and sewage. I mean hideous. I mean which way to the dumpster I've had enough of this bad.
Hmmm. Tried a new cart from different pack. Worse. Puff some more, try to burn it off. No go. Nasty taste stayed with me all day. This is not going well.
Popped off the atomizer that night and changed it out (lucky I had two) dripped a couple drops mint juice straight in. First couple puffs better but not gone. After that cleared up. Little minty taste. A little sweet. Mild. Nice. This has got promise. Drained first atomizer on paper towel overnight. Still smells like apricot puke.
I've been dripping ever since and it seems good, but I've read this may be bad for my atomizer. I don't think if you gave me the purchase price I could bring myself to do a cart again. So am I going to have to get another job to pay for atomizers?

blathem, the taste of e-cigs/liquid can be temperamental, especially at first, but don't give up. Try a million different things till you figure out how to get the best taste. Try cleaning the atomizer with water and blowing out the battery end both a few times until all water is gone...dry it up. Try different cartridges and especially different flavors and liquids. Even try even another e-cig. Sometimes a certain flavor just isn't for you and you just have to find and keep trying a different one until you forget the taste of the old one. Trust me, a bad tasting liquid can really ruin your mouth and stomach for a day (just happened to me recently with a liquid). Something should give way to a finally good taste, just keep at it. You're not the first one to have this issue..

blathem, I'm a total noob (in fact, I haven't used e-cigs yet), but, accordind to the things I've read in this forum, I think u should try this:
Try using a cart with the second atomizer (the one you've used only dripping), check if the taste is better than with the other. If it is, then there is probably something wrong with the first one (maybe it arrived dirty, maybe it's burnt...). In that case, you can try cleaning it (you can find many ways in the tips section), or send it back directly to your provider, telling him what happened (I'd do the second thing).
Before you try that, I'd check the carts (take a look at them, move the core with a needle or something to see if everything looks good, if there's liquid, no fibers coming out that could burn in the vaporizer...), or if you have empty ones, try using one filled with the liquid you were driping. That way, you'll know if it's a problem with the cart you used the first.
If any of these work, thank the others, as I'm only guessing from what I read here... and if they recommend you any other thing, listen to them and forget this message (remember I have less experience than you
).
Good luck!

The carts you get with kits are not the best tasting. Also, your e-cig atomizer comes primed from the factory with a fluid that is just nasty. Pull the fiber out of your carts a squeeze all the liquid out in some paper towels. Put the fiber back in the carts and fill with your own liquid. Because an atomizer can hold 3-5 drops of fluid in the steel wool you'll want to blow it out. Blow into the battery end of the atomizer with a paper towel at the cart end to catch the fluid. Then before puting the cart back on drip two drops of liquid on the mesh bridge on the atomizer to prime it. This should get rid of most of the nasty fluid but until the new stuff completely flushes out the old you will taste a little of the old. Your best off not to boil an atomizer until it really needs it, sometimes they die from the process.

nothing in the e-cig world tastes like a cigarette, the sooner people realize that the better

Like "tobacco" and a "cigar." It's like the difference between a real strawberry and strawberry flavoring.
