Flooded 901 battery advice

This was strange. I got my 901 today, used a new cart without dripping, took my first pull, and my atomizer continuously got hotter. I took out the cart and watched the atomizer as I screwed the battery back in. Sure enough, the atomizer become red and hot within seconds. It appears that the battery is stuck "on" though I don't know how. I've heard this can occur do to direct dripping, but I didn't do that. Anyhow, I was hoping someone may know how to remedy this. I tried blowing through the battery to no avail, and I know it's not the atomizer because it works fine with the second battery. Thanks.
