Thumbs up A Thank You message from a newbie

Hi Guys, I received my first eCig on Saturday (a white 901).

However, I had a really sore throat for a few days and wasn't sure if using my eCig would aggravate it so decided to search on google to find out (as you do lol) and that's when I stumbled across this forum. Since then I've been hooked.... on the forum that is.

I'm so glad I had that initial delay in trying my eCig as it's given me a chance to read through this place and get lots of hints, tips and generally good avice from you lot. The main thing that has helped me so far was the correction in how long the carts last, as you all know, the literature told me than 1 cart = approx 1 packet of cigarettes. If it hadn't been for me reading the reality of it on here, I'd probably still be sucking the life out of the first cart and wondering why I was passing out whilst still craving nicotine.

Another big thank you all for introducing me to a whole new vocabulary. I now know, and more to the point understand, phrases such as; vaping, dripping, analogue cigs etc.

Anyway, today has been my first full day on my eCig and I'm thoroughly enjoying it already. Although I can see this being an expensive habit if I'm not too careful. lol I've ordered some supplies from both ecigs.com & Smokejuice, and now I have my eye on the black model of the 901.

So much for my theory of saving money...

Thanks again for all your help so far, I dare say that now I'm registered, and finally using my new toy, I'll find loads of questions to ask.

Lou ('analogue' smoker for 15 years) x

Welcome to the forum lou and good luck with staying off the analogues!

I think this forum will certainly make things a lot easier for you - a mountain of useful info - from newbies to old hands, and a great bunch at that!

Thanks for the order too by the way..

Oops, that should've been e-cigs.co.uk. I've read about so many companies, who to use - who to avoid, that they're all morphing into one.

Thanks for the welcomes and I'm looking forwarding to trying out my new juice, Smokin.

Weegie - welcome to the forum that I recently joined for the same reasons as yourself.

A dry throat does seem to come with the territory but a wee dram soon solves it .

Before e-cigs I always distrusted water - too many wee nasties swimming in it. It doesn't bother me as much if they're floating after a humane death of alcohol poisoning. Problem is - e-cigs can make you thirsty enough to join 'em .

Or a few beers! I joined the same reason you did...right now I am kinda mixing the open pack of Marlboro Reds and the e-cig since this in my first day. I have a 1/2 a pack of smokes and 3 unopened packs as well. Tomorrow (I hope) will be my first day without smokes. Good luck to both of us!!

    Welcome aboard the E-Train

Looks like you joined for the same reason most of us did, info and a wonderful bunch of people. I have only be here a week or so and just when I thought I could hold out with one e-cig my 901, Janty just posted a pic of the new one under holiday sale. I must have it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. More people, more fun, pull up a pew, Lou (I'm a poet and I don't know it).

Just a quick word in your ear. Please be careful what strength eliquid you use, nicotine can be dangerous.

This is handy information - Nicotine safety

Scarily enough I've not had any alcohol in the house since last week. Fear not, as a good (for good read as typical lol) Scottish Lassie, I'll be rectifying that tomorrow, just for medicinal reasons you understand...

I'm the same, I have had a couple of rollies today but that was more out of habit than anything, I would be smoking it before I remembered my new toy I'd left behind on the livingroom table. I think I'm going to have to place my eCig on the kitchen table, where I usually store my smoking supplies, and go through there to 'vape' (love that word lol) as I would to smoke my rollies. It seems I'm as hooked on the routine of smoking as I am the cigs themselves.

    Good luck to us all...

I saw that thread myself, I'm trying to forget all about it as I already want one and I don't even know the price yet.

Thanks Kate, I've been reading up on the strengths of the carts/juice as it was all new to me a day or so ago. This forum has been a great source of info to me.

I have to say, just reading about the 36mg juices seem to be giving me a bit of a fix. I think I'll leave them for others to use.
