DSE901 - Am I doing something wrong?
I just received my DSE901 a few hours ago. I opened the package, popped in a cartridge, took a drag, and .... nothing. After several more tries, I managed to eek out a little vapor, but nothing like what I have seen in video reviews and demos of this device. According to the website where I ordered the DSE901, atomizers are fully tested and batteries are fully charged. On the off chance that an atomizer managed to get past testing, I put on the spare atomizer I ordered with the same result. I have one battery currently charging in case they were not pre-charged, but something just doesn't seem right. Is it likely that I just received two almost DoA atomizers, or is it possible I am doing something wrong? These shouldn't be too much different than smoking a regular cigarette, right?

It's not quite the same as smoking a regular cig, you do need to draw harder. Sometimes it takes a moment for the atomizer to heat up, so puffing on it helps. I used Ratindahats advice when I first started, and it worked. Try drawing into your mouth and then into your lungs, as opposed to drawing straight down. If it doesn't make sense, go to E-cigreview.com and look under tutorials. The vid is called "My ecig drawing technique."
I would bank on the battery being weak before I'd go with 2 DOA atomizers.

try contacting the site you orderd it from btw where did u order it from.
and explain to them that you might have recived an defected e-cig

I came across his videos in the "Helpful links and videos for a new user." thread, and that was the first one I watched. It seems that I have to draw it unnaturally hard to get even the smallest amount of vapor, to the point where it hurts my jaw muscles (which hopefully isn't normal). Given that I do get some vapor, it does seem more likely that the batteries are not fully charged. I'll give it another try in the morning.

I hope so.
Luckily, I picked up a pack on the way home from work. I ordered it on Friday and didn't really expect the amazing speed of shipment.

I expect Shawn's response is the right one. Batteries loose charge whether used or not.
When you put the battery in the charger did the light turn red? If yes, your battery wasn't fully charged.

The light did turn red but then turned green after a few minutes. A video on the website said this particular charger's indicator isn't very reliable so I'm going to let it charge overnight just in case.
I feel kind of dirty smoking regular cigarettes with that pure, clean e-cig sitting a few feet away.

Hey Almighty!!!
Not sure who you got it from, but seeing as several of the clue's included in your post, I'm assuming its probably me!
I know longer charge batteries fully. I do test everything before they leave here though, that is why I include an instructional page with each order, to explain the first and subsequent charges!
The thing with esmoking is it can take several days to actually get it. Consistency is key, so learning to draw, nice and slow (for 2-3 seconds) can't be quite different from what you are used to with standard tobacco cigs. In the morning (which is probably just a few hours away now) give it another go for a few hours. Make sure you have a full cartridge in ready to go with a new battery, and practice. If you don't see vapor getting better after a few hours of use, let me know!
Atomizers can be quite temperamental. Some works awesome right out of the gate, and others take time to break in. The ones that take time to break end tend to have a good amount of factory priming liquid in it.
Another trick you could try is trying to blow out the atomizer real good. Get all the access factory priming liquid out. Towel it down and dry it off, then start over with a fresh cartridge!
Either way, we'll get you up and going. Keep me posted on your status! (if you indeed ordered from me ... still not sure yet...haha)

P.S. = My PM Mailbox gets really full, really fast, so bear with me if it takes me a few days to get to your PM :) Don't forget, you can always contact us at info@puresmoker.com :)
