Default i keep burning atomizers! :(

hey all i have a 510 *woohoo!* but i have this dreaded problem. after a weeks worth of usage my ecig starts to taste real bad, i could describe the taste as burning plastic. ive checked if it was my cart material but its far away from getting melted/burned by the atomizer. my next guess is that the wick material that is under the heating coil is being burned. this smoke really burns my throat and eyes. so i try my spare atomizer that i never used and for a couple of hits "after primer taste goes away" i get this burning taste again! and i cant get rid of it after x amount of ways to cleaning it. i dont think im running my atomizer dry to where it melts its wick inside. what could be my problem?

You won't melt that wick material. That symptom is a 'running out of juice' sympton where you're not atomizing anything but air. Try dripping and topping off when you begin to get that taste. Another similar taste is if you had a tobacco based juice in a cart for awhile or you're just vaping off the top of the cart then refilling (ie. no wicking up - a straw mod might help) and the juice just sits at the bottom of the cart unused. That juice, again, esp. with a tobacco based juice can get rather strong - replace or wash out filler.

There's a guy on YouTube called something like "TheGuyInTheFedora" (a chubby guy if you get his videos you can identify him by this and his large hat) who does a really good job explaining simple ways that you should ideally (and safely) clean your atomizer every night (none of the soaking them in stuff ideas in the video I am thinking of of his, just very good common sense and demonstrated safe ways to blow them out and wipe them off etc)

The fact that you said this happens after about a week is what makes me think you might be having built up stuff on there.. has this happened to more than one atomizer (several weeks with an atomizer a week etc)?

If you have more than one atomizer and this is happening, did you buy them all at the same place?

If you follow the FedoraHatted guy's advice (I'll try to get a link for it) and you're really pretty sure its not a cleaning issue, then:

Maybe you just got a dud set of them or something and should try buying some atomizers at a different place?

Here's the chubby guy in a hat who seems to know his stuff:
hmm okay can't post urls not enough posts for this either
Go to YouTubbe for this guy's YouTube name and his video:

    moobyghost
"How to clean a 510 and 901 atty"

Here's another guy on YouTube I also pay attention to who seems to know his stuff:
(I can't seem to find his exact videos about maintenance right now but here's the other guy -- go to YouTube and search for him):

    terraphon

I hope some of that helps

IMO, I think attys are being cleaned too much. Since they peak when wet, drying them out too much seems to lead to may problems.

I had this same problem for a while. For me it was the juice i was using. Seems my 510 hits Most of JC's juice way to hard i end up not even tasting it. It's just a burn feeling no matter how small of a vape i take. I've switched between a lot of juices so far. I've found JC is the most flavor packed and that is what is making it hurt my thoat. so i tryed a few things first i start Cutting my JC stash with pure PG it helped a bit. Finally i just gave up and stuck with the juices i liked mostly from china heavens. I've had my 510 for almost 3 months i havn't lost a Atty or battary yet. I did Melt the hell out of my first cart thou lol but i was learning back then

It sounds like you are maybe vapping faster than the juice can wick down into the atomizer. If everything seems OK just after you fill the cart, or put on a new prefilled one. When the vapor gets a little thin, drip a couple of drops of liquid directly into the atomizer and top off the cart.
