Agree with previous post. I'd also like to know what the longest anyone here has been vaping for - to see if their lungs have turned into burnt butter or whatever it is the FDA thinks will happen! lol.

I've been vaping nearly 9 months and I feel 100x better than I did 9 months ago when I had my last analog after 30 years.

Default Just got it, just tried it

Alright I just got my 510 and just tried it.

    Here are a few thoughts:

    1) The quality seems nicer than I expected. The device is also a little smaller than I thought. It really not much larger than a "100."

    2) I tried the TOB - MED cartridge that came with it first. It felt like a Ultra ultra light to me. I then put in the TOB -HIG. That seems to have more flavor.

    3) While it kinda feels like smoking the flavor is mostly in your mouth and nose. I'm not feeling it in my lungs. As I change my drag this does improve a bit. Hold longer in lungs, exhale less through nose.

    4) Oddly enough the vapor is a little dry feeling.

    5) It look about 10 minutes, but I feel like I'm done "smoking." It was more "work" but then this is brand new to me.

    6) It wasn't as "good" as smoking but it may be good enough. Smoking wasn't "good" the first time I tried it either.

Right now I have 13 cigarettes left in my pack. I'll post again latter and let you know how I do. I"m half way through this mornings coffee so this is prime time for me.

Over the next 48 hours, the atty will break in and the vapor, throat hit and flavor will intensify greatly. You'll be very pleased.

The vapor will have a dry feel, it is propelyne glycol, and PG dries you out, be sure to drink more water/fluids than usual to compensate.

Yep, no such a thing as a "perfect" e cig. There is a learning curve to it.

Have a regular cig. if need be. Give yourself time.

I have a weakness for cigarettes when I drink. Then I'll buy a pack to smoke.

I don't beat myself up for it. I smoke about a pack per week.

Better than my pack per day habit I used to have.

Yeah for me, the ecig doesnt seem to cut it for me. I end up feeling like im sucking in steam or something and not smoking. It just does not seem to satisfy me like a regular smoke, unfortunately. But I am glad that it seems to work for the majority of people. Alot of my friends i know locally who have bought e-cigs from the local mall. think its smoke51. They too feel the same way. they liked it in the beginning cause it was a neat device, but almost all of them went back to smoking. I would think these things do not work, but the forum has proven otherwise. There are tons of people here who were successful.

    Default 510 in public

I just received a 510. I started with one that looked like a cigarette. I won't use it in open areas at work (didn't with the cigarette model either), and I still venture outside once in a while. I will show the 510 to my manager at work prior to using it. I work for a rather conservative place, and don't want them thinking I'm smoking a new kind of crack pipe. I'm not a crack type person, but they can barely deal with a cigarette. Out of 200 people in the building, there are only 5 smokers left. (Now 4 since I am now vaping ) I haven't used the 510 in any public places. May get less shy about it later on. Still recovering from the smoking stigma and hiding in the bushes with a cigarette.

Sometimes when I tell smokers about vaping I get the - wierd look.. They must be thinking what you said in your first post.. I'm pushing nicotine in a new way..

It like they don't know they are a complete nicotine addict- someone told me- I don't smoke for the nic. " I like the flavor " - Wow they are completely fooling themselves.

Even when I had the 510 in my hand I would get looks by some like I was using a new kind of evil.

Fact is my lungs and breathing are better.

Just look for the old guys carrying an oxygen tank and know you are doing something better for your addiction than they did- They kept smoking.
