Default Got my first eCig yesterday! And did something wrong already.

So I got my 510 yesterday (Healthcabin is an amazing supplier btw!) and because I forgot to order empty carts, I emptied/washed the pre-filled ones and put around 10 drops of chocolate flavor in it.

The flavor doesn't taste good -at all-, (tastes like pure syrup) but I read here this was because of some chemical and I figured it would go away. This morning I took maybe five puffs and got the burning taste already. Did I put too little juice in or is it just not a good idea to re-use pre filled carts?

Quick update, tried to refill it but the liquid pooled at the top. No clue what's going on here!

I am assuming that you filled the cart with e-juice, correct? Did you let them dry out before filling?

I haven't had a new atty with a bad flavor from primer in a long time (hopefully the manufacturers are fixing all that!).

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Why did you empty out the new cartridge? Did you restuff a cartridge with polyfill yourself? It may be too much filling if it isn't holding much and is pooling. Also the Lipton Tea Bag is a good cart filler for the 510.

Do you just not like the chocolate nicotine liquid you got? Are you adding a drop to the atomizer bridge each time you refill your cartridge? Must do that each, to keep it nice and wet and keep from getting a burned taste! Helps when breaking in new atomizers too.

Let me know if there are still questions.

Keep reading and experimenting. I have the same issues and as I read and work on it its getting better. Theres an art to this and practice makes perfect. At least I hope

I emptied out the new cartridge because it came with 28g Menthol (I got a kit), and I wanted a different flavour.

I didn't restuff it, I just rinsed out the filler that was already in there and re used it (was this a no-no?) I dried it off on a paper towel.

Nope, I didn't add a drop to the atomizer bridge. I'll try that!

That should have been fine. Maybe the filler got smooshed a bit after you dried it? Use a toothpick or something sharp to pull it apart a bit. Just make sure to put a drop on the atty each time you refill the cart, and you should always do well. Small carts on these just don't hold much liquid... the only downside of the 510.

The tiny straws (straw modification) can help in these as well. Sometimes air gets into the bottom of the cart, and keeps the liquid from draining through the filler all the way. The straw can help with that.

Thanks for the plug, Ez, and for the wisdom to include kristen's excellent (and much less verbose) post as well!
