Can e-liquid be diluted

Soooo .....i received my VG 2 weeks ago....i thined out my e liquid (18 mg)...added a little Lorann's flavor...AND I GOT ...6mg nicotine ,inproved taste ,plenty of vapor, BUT, i have lost the throat hit......
the mix i use is ...
10 drops e liquid 18mg
17 drops VG
3 drops distilled water
3 drops Loranns flavor( PRALINES + CREAM)
can anyone explain why?

It could be that you're not getting the additives in the commercial eliquid such as pepper in the same strength. Glycerine smooths flavours, you might want to see if propylene glycol works better for you.

If it's spikyness you are missing it could mean that you are vaping below your nicotine tolerance level. You could try a couple of drops of higher nic occasionally for a spike and fix.

I knew i could count on you for an answer Kate.......i am getting my PG in a few days i will see how that goes ...i will go 10vg...10pg..and 10 e liquid....i will let you know if the Pg improved the hit...if not i will go half e liquid and half all the other stuff....
