Cleaning cycle question

So, my 901 atomizer seems to feel the need to kick in the self cleaning cycle an awful lot. Maybe every 10-15 puffs or so. I'm sure it's user error of some sort, I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Generally, I'll plop a drop on the cart and a couple drops on the atomizer in the morning. To refill I've been doing the dripping/topping method I heard someone else talking about.... dripping a couple drops on the atomizer as well as the cart. I've also been removing the cart and exclusively dripping occasionally. I've been blowing them out and setting them cart side down to drain over night.

Am I flooding the atomizer? It seems to enjoy making a gurgly sound for a few puffs and then kicking the cleaning cycle in, at which point it tastes like ickiness, which is no good. Same thing happens when I switch atomizers, so I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong.

I've been praciting my slow draw, just enough to light the batt up.... but perhaps I've been screwing that up too!

I don't drip, but if I top off with too much liquid, I get gurgling and it affects the whole thing. It could mean you are flooding both the atomiser and the battery. Try a battery that you know doesn't have fluid in it and attach the atomiser. Then blow via the led end of the battery (takes a bit of puff) for a good few seconds - long and quite hard. You should see the atomiser end start to get vapour coming out of it (it heats the atomiser). This is how I clean my atomisers as a matter of course.
This could do one of two things....stuff your atomiser up (hasn't happened to me yet), burn off the extra fluid (might taste suspect for a few puffs, but goes away) and fix it. There are no guarantees it will work, but could be worth a try. Good luck and I hope it helps. If you are new to ecigs, perhaps you should rethink dripping for now. Also, try and upend the batteries and see if any fluid comes out - maybe on a radiator if you have the double kind where you have a space. You could put a tissue in the dip of the radiator and drain it that way. - Just an idea.
