New user, Intro/thoughts/question- M-401/403
Being new to vaping I've researched these forums until I got dizzy(still am). I'm sure most of us ended up here not expecting the vast sea of knowledge kept here?! I decided to purchase a M-401/403 as my first PV.
Got to use the the 401 yesterday for my first vape(ever) and really like it. The only thing I notice when using it is a sound like a 'burning cigarette' when I inhale. When I pull the atty cart off there's some condensation on it. I try to keep it dry by wiping it off occasionally. Is this normal? I read where this may be a sign the atty is flooded but I did let it drain upside down overnight. Seems to be working fine, nice vapor.
I'm using some pre-filled carts(16mg) right now. I'm a 1/1.5 pk/day smoker and have not had an analog today(as of 4:15 pm EST). I plan to get some different strengths and flavors soon. Surprisingly the 16mg is warding off a major nic attack although I'm a little edgy it's not so bad! My initial plan was to use the patch and the M-401 w/ 0mg to quit smoking analogs. Now that I have it I think I probably could forgo the patch and wean myself down to 0mg w/ this alone.
It's great to be officially on this forum.

Ah, good choice. The m-40x seems to be a very good middle ground of taste, battery life and vapor production. The "burning cigarette" sound you hear is one of two things. If it's a gurgling sound it's flooded, if it's a sizzling sound it's the sound of vaporizing liquid (one that always excites me). If your using carts it's unlikely to be flooded, but if you're in doubt unscrew the atty for the battery and blow through the botom atty hole to expel the extra liquid out of the top, but be sure to remove the cart, first. And be sure to get some refill liquid to refill our original carts or try dripping or dipping. I prefer direct dripping over using carts. Also, you might concider ordering some higher strength liquid if you feel like your always on the edge of smoking an analog even after chain vaping. I still vape a very, very high mg liquid to ward off the demon, but I eventially hope to be one of the cool guys that enjoy vaping @ low or no nic. Anyway, welcome to the other world and good luck. I stopped a 30-40 a day habit 2 days after receiving my first ecig. What you read on this forum from so many is true. You can quit and never go back, but you have to learn the curve.

I'd say it's more of a 'sizzling' sound which is cool, yes. Is the condensation the atty normal? I would assume it is because of the vapor... I think I will try the dipping when I get extra juice. My eventual plan is to use the 401 around the house and maybe get a two piece with a PCC for travel. Thanks for the advice and kind words!

Question above was suppose to read..."Is the condensation on the atty sleeve normal?"...can't edit yet...

Turbo, ya, the condensation is normal. After the trapped vapor cools it condenses back into its liquid state. Also, if you spend much time at your computer you might look into getting a passthrough. It looks like a battery with a wire that plugs into a usb port, then, screw on your atty and vape away. It not only conserves your batteries for when your out and about (remember a battery can only be recharged so many times), but you'll get a good consistant hit every time. I have noticed with my 401 the taste seems to suffer a small loss when using my PT, but it's still my favorite way to go.

The PCC for M401 is not available as we speak. The only PCC model from Smoore is the M702.

I'd recommend getting some manual batteries for the M401 or if you want a smaller battery, get the M402 manuals. There has been good reviews on these so do leave a review somewhere if u decide to get them:

I had my first drinking/hanging around analog smokers session last night and I did great w/ my 401. They all thought it was cool; same at band rehearsal today. As stated in my OP my original plan was to use the patch in tandem w/ 0mg...now my pre-filled nic carts are almost gone and I'm stuck w/ 0mg...will be putting in an order tonight to have ready to go out first thing tomorrow!

Turbo,
Welcome to ECF! I am also a 401-Dragon user and love it! I have been vaping 3 weeks- I still have a few analogs a day so don't beat yourself up if that happens... It took me a few days to stop feeling guilty about it- from 1 1/2 packs to 2 packs a day I am at about 5 cigs a day w/ my vaping & I normally vape 18-24 mg... none of the smaoking cessation tools currently on the market or any of the ones available up to 10 yrs ago worked on me... the patch is about the only thing I DIDN'T try... too many reports of death when it first came out...
I have strengths of nicotine liquid all the way to 0 mg and also use that when I feel the need to "smoke" but I know I don't need the nicotine... Ya know still breaking habit too- So, this is helping me decrease nicotine intake and I have greatly decreased my tobacco and soon will be off tobacco altogether... (I am sure of it)-
Check out the NC Vapors board here in Social Groups- I haven't been yet but in November there is a get together planned- Would love to see ya there! You may even be able to try a few other things and get a take from others how experience is here in NC!

Sounds like we're in the same boat, thanks for the encouragement. Best of luck to you as well. My original plan seems silly now that I know I can just use my PV to quit; no need to get the patch just more juice. I thought I had it figured out but one never knows until they have the tool in hand. My plan now is to step down in mg on a loose schedule that I have in mind.
I'll def check out the NC board, that sounds great, thanks again!
