Default 1st time poster, long time lurker

I had a chance to try an e-cig at the mall the other day and decided to do some research when I stumbled upon this site. It's all interesting to say the least.

I'm a pack a day smoker, but can put down 2 packs if I go out for drinks. Winston ultra-lights is the death stick of choice. Been smoking for 25 years now. I'm athletic -- I've run several 1/2 marathons, 1 full marathon and up until 3 years ago, I was an amateur competitive cyclist.

I love to smoke, but I think a lot of my smoking is done out of ritual and not out of enjoyment and would love nothing more than to find a safer replacement. I have read this site for a week now and it's almost as addictive as nicotine. It reads like a novel with drug and electronic shipments from China, large tobacco companies, Government testing and the Malaysian Dr. Loi

I've been following Paladinx's posts lately as he/she is new too and it's been very helpful. I still have concerns that may not ever be answered here and may just require trial and error:
The long term effects of inhaling PG and the short term effects of lactic acid buildup when cycling and running. (the "well cigarette smoke is probably worse" argument isn't working for me)
The drugs that I will be inhaling that will be shipped, unregulated, from China.
The amount of nicotene that I will need. (overdose/underdose)

I may be buying a 901 soon to see what I think. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for having me on your web site.

Default Unknown - isn't everyday an unknown

I'm pretty much the same as you, apart from the athletic part :-) .
Been smoking for just on 30 years, tried all different methods of quitting. Most cigs i smoke i only want half of it, if that. A lot are as you said "ritual".

I have ordered my 901 and i should hopefully get it either today or tomorrow. I've been reading lots of stuff on this site. I'm still game to give it a try. It can't be any worse than analogs.

For a while i was thinking about trying chantix. Two things put me off that. 1 - the cost, 2 - the side effects. All for something that i think has less than 40% success rate (may be wrong there but i know it's not that high).

Can let you know it all works out for me.
