Question smoking everywhere gold atomizer problem

Hi First post
When I take even the slightest drag on my e-cig, the led light flashes about twenty or more times, nothing more. I try a new atomizer I just bought , and it works fine,so it's not the battery. I have two batteries, and the new atomizer works fine, but the original just makes the led light flash. Is it shot? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Fieldsie

fieldsie,

Welcome to the ECF

I know nothing about that model but you may find good info the "model specific" section.

I believe the SE gold is called a "RN-4081." Here is a link to that section:

RN 4081 *Super Mini* - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

That may have some specific tips for you.

The best tip I can give you is to as quickly as you can, replace that thing with something of higher quality.

I am having the same problem with my SE 4081 as well. I think it is the atty. I am going to go back to the mall I got it from and get a new atty. They have been pretty good at replacing the atty on mine when it goes bad. The only problem is that this will be the fourth one since a got it a couple of months ago. But they told me that it is on warranty for two years and I can bring it back to get it fixed any time. So far they have stood by their word.

Hopefully you got yours at the mall too. Just take it back and they will probably give you a new atty. If you ordered it on the net, you might not be so lucky. I have heard others here complain about how poor the customer service is.

I know a lot of people here will slam the SE 4081 a lot, but the 4081 does work quite well in my opinion. I still like mine a lot and use it everyday.

Good luck!

I've been using the 4081 for almost a year now. I have no problems at all with it. The problem isn't always with the 4081. The problem is that SE sells them at a ridiculous price, and everyone assumes they're no good. You can get attys for $5.50 each, batteries for about 9 bucks, and they have double size carts for them now. I built nicosticks for the 4081 attys, and they work great. The pic in my sig is me using the 4081 with a standard auto battery.

Thanks everybody,
It was defiantly the atty, as I used a voltmeter on it, and it was reading 0 ohms. In this case, it was probably my own fault. I cleaned it with warm water, then put it in the oven at 350 to dry. Never worked after that, to well done I guess!! But I ordered another rn4081, and it should be here in a few days. Anyway, thanks again.

fieldsie;
I'm using an atty that's over 6 months old now. Occasionally it becomes hard to draw on, and I soak it in Everclear. (Grain Alcohol) I just gently blow in it to evaporate the alcohol and continue where I left off. The good thing about the Everclear is that if there is some left in the atty, it vapes right out with the juice.

That's my only maintenance. Normally, I just set my e-cig down at the end of the day, and in the morning I just add a couple of drops and start vaping again.

My thoughts? People clean their attys too much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

thanks for the advice Jim,
I have one quick question. On the Smoking Everywhere site, it says not to put juice on the atty. But everything I read says not to let them go dry, and dripping doesn't hurt. What's correct? Drip a drop or two on atty or not? Thanks

You have to be careful with auto batteries. Juice can get into them and gum up the auto switch or possible do other damage.

I usually fill my cart until it begins to pool at the top and add one small drop to the atty bridge. The reason I say "small" drop is because some dropper bottles have bigger holes in them, and the drops are huge. If i know there's juice in the thing, and vapor slacks off, I figure it's getting flooded. I put an empty cart casing on it, and puff a few times. I'll get massive vapor for a short time while it burns off the excess juice. When the vapor drops off, I go back to my cart fill, and one small drop in the atty. It takes a while to get a feel for it.
