Unhappy Day 2 - What am I doing wrong?

I ordered a Joye 510 and a 2-piece ecigarette. They both arrived Friday. The first day they arrived, I tried them both out to see which I preferred. I am currently a heavy smoker ... 2 pks a day ... at times in my life, more than that. I really want this to work.

First day, I was excited and testing out both models. I began to feel ill and went to bed. Had chills half the night and felt much like I had the flu. Next morning, felt a bit better. Definitely not the flu? Too much testing? I don't know.

Day two, moderated my use. No more chills and headache, but I can't seem to take a draw without choking and coughing. I don't cough when I smoke. So how exactly do you get around this? Do you inhale the vapor into your lungs or just keep it in your mouth and then exhale? Also dealing with slight nausea.

Any input is welcome.

Possible allergic reaction to PG. Sadly it's not that uncommon.

You may have also overdone it with nicotine... as different people respond differently to that. Especially if you accidentally ingested some liquid.

Some people do have an allergic reaction to PG. May want to check out the health section and see if these are some possible symtems. If so, I would suggest trying some VG liquid before proceeding.

Here's the sub forum for health issues Health, Safety and E-Smoking - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat it could have been from either the PG or too much nicotine or neither, it will just take some time to sort it out. I smoked 35-40 Marlboro light 100's and I'm finding that about 50 total mg keeps the nicotine desire at bay (i.e. 4 ml of 12 mg juice or 3 ml of 18 mg juice, 2 ml of 24 mg).

Sorry to hear of your problems!! I take the vapor into my mouth...then into my lungs. That is the way I smoked. I can't do a direct inhale...it makes me cough too!!
Hope this helps!!

Looks pretty dramatic Crowdog. You better call an ambulance.

Crowdog, if you are in distress, why are you on your computer typing a note to strangers? Go to a neighbor's and call for help. No one here even knows where you live to call 911. What makes you believe it is a reaction to vaping?

Some of your symptoms sound like nicotine withdrawal, but it sounds like you might have a PG allergy. I smoked Old Golds (read: harsh), and while I get a throat hit, PVs do not make me cough unless I inhale wrong like when water goes down the wrong pipe. Going from 2 packs a day to vapor should reduce your nicotine intake unless you were drinking the liquid. I'd say your symptoms are from withdrawal and allergies. Educated guess...
