Default Been vaping for 2 days but need help with flavors?

Hi All. Well it's been 2 days now since my 510 arrived and although I haven't kicked the analogs completely yet, I'm down to about 10 day from 40 a day. Probably the main reason I'm still leaning on analogs is frankly, the flavors I bought taste pretty awful!! Like most smokers, I assumed that I would want a tobacco flavored vape so I got a variety of tobacco "style" juices ( Dunhill, 555, Hilton, RY4 and the malboro that comes with the kit). To me Hilton and RY4 are way too sweet, the malboro tastes nothing like malboro which is good as I don't like malboro but unfortunatley it manages to taste even worse! The 555 tastes like those little perfumed herb sachets grandmothers like to stick in the back of their sock drawers... The only one that goes close IMO is the Dunhill however that tends to leave a sickly sweet aftertaste.

So, I've figured out what most of you already know, that most of the tobacco flavors are vile. Were to I go from here? I need some suggestions as I can't see myself sticking at it with tobacco flavors? Maybe some of the fruit varieties? At least I would expect them to be sweet. Some of the various coffee flavors?

    Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
    Cheers
    John.

Sounds like its time to order a sampler pack.

You can also find a lot of video reviews of juice flavors in the E-Liquid Reviews - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat section as well as on youtube.

"Grimgreen" and "MoobyGhost" are both very good. Grimgreen seems to prefer more traditional flavors, while MoobyGhost leans towards fruity and exotic. Their reviews are very descriptive so you can get an idea of what to expect.

Don't worry not every juice is sweet. Coffee and apple from awesomevapor.com aren't sweet.

I too am a total noob so i don't have many flavor suggestions but i hear the Parliament flavors aren't that bad...

nhaler.com has REALLY good cafe mocha tobacco flavor (this is my favorite so far) and the french vanilla coffee's pretty good - a bit sweeter than the cafe mocha. they have a sampler size that's 6ml for $4.00 i think.... I've also heard that their Pear Lung Juice is to DIE for so that's on my shopping list for the next nahler buy.

Cignot.com sent me a little sample bottle of their English Toffee Ecopure based juice and that was pretty good too - on the sweeter side as well.

I've also heard that menthol is a really good flavor (they don't taste much like analog menthol and they're pretty tasty from what i hear).

i'd say try sampler packs if you can find them... here's a few links to try out
    Nuvape sampler pack (5 flavors, 3ml, $8)

Awesome Vapor - sample packs (All 10 of their flavors, 3ml, $20)

freedom smokes sampler (6 flavors YOUR CHOICE, 10 ml: $30 or 20 ml: $50 - price seems hefty but you DO get 60 ml or 120 ml)

The first link has set packages of different flavors so you might get one or two you don't really like... =(

I've also been told that different sellers have different flavor tobacco flavors - not all seller's Marlboro will taste the same. The second link has 5 tobacco flavors and 5 non tobacco

The third link has a HUGE selection and since you get to pick and choose your flavors i like the best. Also price wise i think (not sure though) they're the cheapest when it comes to $ to ml.

    best of luck!!!

Thanks for that gooney. Unfortunately I'm in Australia not the US and can't get juice from most of the US suppliers as they won't ship overseas. For example, awesome vapor don't ship internationally. So I'm stuck with using the chinese suppliers like eastmall, healthcabin, heavens-gifts, etc. Cheaper for sure but I'm not sure about their QC. To give you an example, I just read a thread in the V4L forum and it described the clove flavor exactly as I described the 555 flavor. I wonder if I got a mislabelled bottle?

Congrats on the at least using 2 days... I think you should use it more... I would hit the ecig, then then if I wanted an analog after then I would smoke. I never did.

I started on juice from http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com and I got 1 ea) 11mg/ml juice and 2 ea) 0mg juice to cut it with, because I knew I was going to need to. If you don't you can just add unflavored (you no doubt will be buying soon, like allot of us) 24mg to the 0mg.

I assume you might be toying around with the idea of making your own eJuice, I did and was SUPER happy I did. Flavors!?!??! LOL! Try a recipe I found on this forum it goes something like:

    10ml PG
5 drops (TOTAL DROPS, NO MORE) Lemon/Lime/Tangerine Oil (Lemon/Lime was GREAT)
    1-2ml 24mg unflavored eLiquid
    (Maybe Distilled Water like .5-1ml)
    (And some VG, like 2ml)

This has been my favorite, and I keep going back and adding Distilled water, and a bit of VG.

I use this and at night when doing a few 12oz curls I add a drop or 2 of the 24mg to the cart when topping off, when I think I need it.

These are banned in AU right? I have been pushing the idea to musician I am a fan of, but he states they are banned there.

Does the ban include Selling, Buying, Manufacturing, Using?

I would suggest ECOpure liquids for 'neutral' flavors. They also have unflavored if you want to try that route. I actually enjoy their krystal (36mg, unflavored) and gold max(30mg, they say its light tobacco but I think of a smokey caramel). Since you are in Australia, I'm not sure where it would be best to get them from though. I'm sure someone here can answer that if you ask.

EDIT: A little background. I started vaping only recently, congrats to you for cutting down so much. It took my wife 2 weeks to get completely analog free. So, I started with tobacco flavors as well...didn't like them so much so I tried some flavors from nhaler. All very high quality stuff and found a couple that I really like (Mint Tobacco, Dr. Pepper, and Sleepy Time Lung Juice) but most of them, while high quality, just didn't suit my taste. Over that time I've really fallen back love with the ECOpure. You may or may not go through a similar process. Good Luck to you and the switch!

    Happy Vaping!!

Technically, Yes. There is an Australian based site that sells the "hardware", although I didn't buy from them. Overpriced rubbish. You can't buy the juice in AU however customs appears to be pretty easygoing about personal use imports. I'm not sure of the exact legal status of "using" but I doubt I'm going to get 10 years in the slammer!

I've found that comments that you can't get a juice that is a reasonable approximation to a real cig to be untrue.

I found a tobacco flavor I like. It is actually a combination of Camel, Tobacco and RY4 at 50/30/20 percentages. It has great throat hit, tons of vapor and the slight throat burn of a real cig. Some people don't like the burn. I wonder of they are really looking for real cig smoke

And...you can adjust the percentages to your own taste.

OK, it's nearly 10pm local time of my fourth day of vaping. I've only had 5 analogs all day but I'll probably suck one more down before bedtime!! I'm getting used to the Dunhill juice, I'm not really noticing that sickly aftertaste any more and it has a kind of pleasant cherry/rasberry/strawberry all mixed together taste??? It's hard to describe.

Anyway, I've been hitting the Visa card tonight and ordered a sampler pack from Eastmall with some non tobacco flavors plus some 36mg flavorless juice so I can "home brew" some vape...

I must admit to my great surprise that with every day that goes by, I'm feeling more confident that cancer sticks will shortly be no longer controlling my life.
