I agree, retraining/developing new habits takes a little time and with esmoking only a small amount of willpower.

Patience is the main thing, don't make it a hardship, just swap to esmoking when you are ready. It's no big deal if you continue to have a hot one occasionally, it's not a slippery slope in the way it is with cold turkey.

I don't bother with analogues anymore except when I'm driving. I am perfectly happy with an e-cig as the first smoke. Mostly cuz it's winter here, and I don't want to have to change clothes and put on 3 layers for a damn cigarette. Screw that, I get up, have breakfast, and grab my M401. After about 6 weeks on e cigs, I've gone days without analogues. And they're right in the drawer next to the bed. I'll smoke real ones if I have one or two flat batteries or some on charge and I don't wanna be caught short, but that's it.
Cheese graters could also be marketed and sold as sponge ruiners. Think about it.

yftb ...... funny, i actually prefer the ecig in the car. Don't have to have the window open when it's cold and snowy or raining. I did try a different routine this morning and worked .... for about 30 min . Oh well there is always tomorrow.

Kate you are right, patience is definitly the key and i agree about one slip up with cold turkey. That is a lot of pressure there. This way it's more of an ok, maybe next time.

TX - we have two labs that need going out so i have to go outside with them ...... that's the tough part of the routine. Did take the ecig with me this morning and it was ok. Made sure i had a fully charged batt and a freshly topped off cart. That worked pretty good.

Once again thanks for all the replies to this post.

You can also try drawing the vapor directly into your lungs in the morning if you are normally a "mouth hitter" (like almost all of us are). First thing in the morning is the only time I pull the vapor directly into my lungs, but I get HUGE amount of vapor with a strong throat hit that feels just like smoking an analog. It hits you really fast and hard that way, and it seems to give me the "head spins" like analogs normally would in the morning. Very satisfying, and I don't even think about analogs.

Jack ... what is this not inhaling all the way you speak of ???

I guess 30 years of smoking analogues, i just kept doing the same.

Shall have to try that out for a while to see how well that works.

I have been finding myself getting a good little head buzz going while sitting on the couch in the evening. Guess i shouldn't have that darn ecig in my pocket. It's just too tempting to pull it out and take a couple or 5 or 6 puffs.

I'd prefer the e-cig all the time, but I smoke tobacco in the car, cuz I still have a steep supply of rolling tobacco, and don't wanna just throw it out (waste waste waste!!) since I already own it, I'll save a bit on e-smoking costs. and since I'm already dressed, and with a coat on I don't mind the cold through the window too much. UNLESS it's raining or snowing or there's locusts or something, then it's e-cig time. AND you don't have to drip analogue cigs! Or change the carts, or batteries, or look for flashing auto clean lights.

With most analogues, inhaling directly into the lungs is murder, and is usually followed by a coughing fit. So, most cig smokers (including myself) instinctively started mouth hitting cigs from day one. I had not even thought about inhaling directly into the lungs (at least I don't think about the way I inhale very often) until I saw someone talking about it in a YouTube video.

..however, he did not call it mouth-hitting

Yep, I think you can TM that term

It's a good point that most smokers don't think about the way they inhale and that it may not translate to vaporizing.

I've personally found that the "direct lung" inhale is only efficient for low vapor producing super-minis - and even then it provided more of a burning taste than a proper "hit". The 901 or the Janty mini fogger [for me] produce sufficient vapor be able to "mouth hit" with good satisfaction...

    To those just starting:

I actually purchased my Njoy at the end of June 08. I continued to smoke analogues here and there until Nov 8th. I have not smoked an analogue since that time. I did try one the other day and took one puff and coughed my head off. What a nasty flavor and so harsh!

Like Clavit said :Be patient, you're moving in the right direction. Focus on that.

PS: What you guys call "mouth-hitting", I've called "head-smoking". LOL!
