Hello, here is the same old damn question that all us noobs keep asking, but I can't break the streak! Anyway I am a complete e-cig virgin, but have been spending hours pouring over all this information, to the point of complete overload... I know the answer "just friggin pick one, and go with it" but everytime I think I have my mind made up something makes me second guess. But here are my stats: I am currently a pack a day Marlboro Lights smoker. I do not care if my e-cig looks like a real cig (actually I kind prefer it doesn't). I think I want decent throat hit, and to begin would like something that tastes close to my Marlboros, but I also know that I will end up going to "flavors" eventually but getting the real cig feel will probably help me make the fulltime switch. I am a mod'er with almost everything I have, so my e-cig will end up being the same. But that being said, I value quality construction and do NOT want to have to mod just to make it do what is supposed to do out of the box... Currently I am close to power most of the time, but I do camp/dirtbike/take long Harley rides so long battery is a major plus. Size is not a big factor as long as I can fit it in a front jeans pocket. Finally cost, I am not overly concerned since I plan on keeping with this, and don't want a collection of e-cigs. I would prefer to get one that can grow with me weather that be a mod or off the shelf. Also what may end up being the deciding factor and making all this worthless, is availability. I am leaving on the 15th of this month for a trip to CO, and need to have it before then! Sorry for such a long post, but I am hoping to get back on track to a good purchase! Thank you in advance for taking the time to even read this post, let alone try and help another FNG on his quest for the "perfect" vape... |

Here is what i recommend: http://absolutelyecigs.com/index.php 1 x M401 starter kit 1 x USB Passthrough 10 x Atomisers 100ml to 260ml of E-Liquid (recommended flavor: Marlboro) 10-20 blank carts 2 -4 Manual Batts (either M401 or M402 size) You should be ok for a while. When you are at a place with loud noises, change to your manual batts. The USB Passthrough is a great piece so don't forget this in your order no matter what. Atomisers are only $6 a piece when ordering 10pcs. The liquid amount you wish to order is your choice. 260ml is currently going for only $66 so you can decide if you wanna stock up. Hope this helps. |

When you get back from your trip check-out the GG, if you like Harley's this may be the thing for you, it takes 3.7 re-chargable batteries. The GG - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat Imeo makes them and at the moment sells them himself,PM him. He's in Greece though so it wouldnt get to you before your trip. |

Nhaler is bringing out a new mod which will be much cheaper than the GG. It will be available with a variety of adapters for most of the most popular e-cigs. He also has a good variety of excellent juices with quite a few in tabacco flavors.

I was a pack a day marlboro medium smoker....the joye 510 came recomended to me several times, so I pass the rec to you.. I ordered the 510 elite kit from nhaler. It has 2 full 510 smokes, 5 prefilled carts, 2 6ml bottles of whatever juice you want (I went with the marlbro and 555) a wall charger, a pcc (which you WILL need) and he threw in a lil case, a pair of bent nose tweezers, and a bent tip dental pick all in a nice rubbermaid like pecil box. The juices I got were high voltage 12mg...they work but feel kinda like I'm smoking a light or an ultralight cig. I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of my 6 6ml bottles of 24mg. juices in all different flavors. (hopefully here today) Anyway, I do like my 510....it has a throat hit, taste, and good vapor.. thanks for the recs everybody

I have tried 3 models. Each has its own advantages. I would start with 510 with an auto batt, a man batt and a passthru. I would buy eliq samples ranging from 12mg to 36mg. I would avoid buying a large bottle of eliq which you may not like. 510 cart works pretty good. Myself...I prefer M401...but I tailpipe drip. The 510 is more consistent at producing strong throat hit. The M401 is lighter and smaller. I can manage with 510 or M401. It is difficult to finish a nasty tasting eliq. It is good to have 3 or 4 batts and a passthru so you can go all day. |

As to the other recommendations, I will look again at all of them again, and check the availability, as it look that is what my first e-cig purchase will boil down to, due to my desire to take one with me on my trip. Which brings up another question which I am sure has been brought up here before, but haven't found yet. What is the current situation with airline travel and e-cigs, primarily with Southwest, since that is what I will be flying. But any air travel experiences will be welcome... Thanks again for all of your responses! | |

Oh yeah, and why the recommendation to get the auto batteries as well as manuals? Just for the realism that the auto's would provide?

I use the Joye 510 and love it. I heard manuals are the best way to go because there is no preset, and you can control how much vapor you get from a drag as opposed to automatic, and that automatic battery life isn't that good because other factors (sounds/vibrations) can make them go off by themselves. I have no prob holding a button, been smoke free since I started vaping last week
