Default new guy here with question!

    hi all,
new vaper here in pittsburgh,pa. I've been looking around for an alternative to regular ciggies and decided to purchase an e-cig. Now I didn't order online but found a local shop that sells the Elektro models . I do like it so far (2 days) but...I'm used to having a ciggy hanging out of my mouth while I work on stuff. This one is just a tab too heavy to do that. Can anyone recommend a model that has alittle less weight to it?
    TIA
    Jim

Boy, I know that feeling, unfortunately they're all heaavier than the real thing. Just another part of the learning curve. Also, since you're in PA you might want to checkout LitecigUSA. He's located in Jersey Shore and has crazy fast shipping/great prices on the stuff he carries. And welcome. This forum is like a one-stop shop for all your info needs.

I had that problem. My lips were getting swollen from using the computer while vaping on a pass-through. Now, I don’t know what the Elektro is compatible with.
I returned a “Green Smoke” kit for the very reason that it was totally proprietary (didn’t work with any 3rd party attachments).

If (I say IF) the Elektro is compatible with the 901, the 510 or the KR808d-1, then you can purchase:

    Mini Electronic Cigarette-DSE 901-Cartridges Quantity: 10 $7.99

I got mine from Totally wicked but I think they are out of stock now.
(I learned about this here on the forum).

It’s what is known as a “whistle” tip. Sort of like the tips on the old mini Havana Tampa cigars. It fits both the 510 and the KR808D It extends the cart or carto and the non round tip fits great between your teeth.

If your ecig is not compatible with the 901, the 510, or the KR808D, then you might try the local smoke shop for a cigarette or cigar holder that might work.

    Hope this helps.

Do you know what model the Elektro is? Is it a 901? If it is try ecigpros.com for accessories and refill stuff. As far as a small one - look for a m702 model. There are a lot of guys on this forum that have done lots of comparisons. One guy even had pictures of the different models so you can see what is what! This forum has been very helpful for me and my husband so far. We are both new to this! Only about 3 weeks. There is a ton of information out there.

Like ctruth says - whistle tips are the answer for holding in your mouth/teeth. There are two basic types for the 510 and 901 models - mini's - and that's the '0' type and 'D' type and that refers to the shape of the cartridge. The '0' types are thicker and better for holding in the teeth or the lips, imo. They can be gotten here:

out of stock now but this is what they look like.

In stock in 901 here. These fit both the 510 and 901.

You might check out "The Wonderful World Of Vaping: An Illistrated Guide... You might be able to identify your ecig there. It's located as a sticky here in the New Members Forum and is a wealth of info. As a matter of fact, Don's posts always seem to include entertainment value, as well.

I like my 401 for the "lighter feel". You get 3 choices of battery length. It's an easy draw and very efficient on juice. By that I mean it wicks well, completly, and doesn't leak or flood. Really low maintenance. And you don't have to stop what you are doing to push a button!

I recently picked up a Revolver (M702).. and that is exactly the thing I love about it. The cartridge life is short.. as is the battery life (but the PCC is good... so..?).. but I can hang it out of my mouth hands free, no problem. And, I can stick it behind my ear when I don't want it in my mouth. Try that with a 510 Mega!

If you expect e-cigs to magically lead you to smoking cessation, you are wrong. There are many aspects of smoking that e-cigs may not satisfy in your case. That said, I quit smoking with an 801/penstlye device with automatic batteries. I now use a modified battery holder (Super-T1) with an adjustable airflow adapter running at 6 volts. This will absolutely keep me from analogs.

Forget the e-cig that looks like a cigarette or hangs out your mouth like a cigarette. If you intend to stop smoking analogs, you need to make some changes to the way you are thinking. Continue vaping, list the things your device does and does not adequately satisfy and use that to search out your next device purchase.
