I called the USPS tonight and they can/will only give me the same info that is on the tracking website - that its still sitting in customs (since Oct 31st and today being Nov 13) They then told me that I needed to contact the sender - Absolutely E-Cigs - and tell them to request more information about the parcel. I sent the original order in on the 26th of Oct (China got it and processed it this day).
I sent an email to Ab. E-Cigs tonight as well..
Whats the deal? anyone else ever have to wait this long for an order?
This is ridiculous

That doesnt sound good. I am (unfortunately) not impressed with E-cig. Although they are quick to respond to email and concerns it will be interesting to see what they do about my FIRST kit. To keep me as a customer I mean. I havent even received it yet and I am already discouraged.

OK, E-cigs will have my business again. I was quick to jump on the angry train about them but here is what they responded with this morning

We will check again and let you know soonest. Since the order is already in US soil, there is a limit to what we can do. We are very certain that you will receive your order soon. However, this is still very unusual. We believe that USPS might be facing some issues.
We guarantee that you will receive your order one way or another. If this order still does not reach you after a few more days, we will resend the entire order once more at no cost. Even though this is an issue with the destination country, we will assume total responsibility and make sure you receive what you ordered, one way or another.
Thank you very much for your understanding so far. We will do our best to resolve this soonest.

the local PO does not have it either. They find it very odd that it has not arrived yet though. They were very helpful and even took me back to the area where the packages arrive (a little strange if you ask me but whatever) They guy I talked to took my name and cell number in the event that he locates it.
Its probably in tanzania by now..

Best of luck on this. I've ordered from China (heaven's gifts) 3-4 times by EMS, and it takes about 5 days every time, but the tracking doesn't generally get updated - it will say it is still in customs, and then the day I get it in the mail, the tracking will all get updated - not very helpful, but oh well.

Ecig's is going to send me a new package on Monday morning if nothing arrives.

Glad they didin't make me eat my words. However, its important to note that this is an issue with the postal service (USPS). Its pretty irresponsible imo that they can just shirk off any responsibility since the tracking info already shows that it is in the US. They should have a better answer than to send you back to the sender.
I highly commend AEC for the professionalism that they have displayed. They clearly understood that the fault does not lie with them. But they also understand that the buyer is innocent. Kudos to them for correcting this. I do not ever wish for this to happen to me though and i do admire your coolness on this matter. I might not have handled it as well as you did. You were cool enough to see that the supplier was innocent and the supplier in return treated you fairly.
Too bad about the waiting time though. Hope you get your order on Monday and if not, i'm sure you will continue to have good experiences with AEC like i have had for the past 10 months++.

well, Monday Nov 16 and still nothing. called the local PO again today and all they can tell me is that Customs still must have it. Of course, I called customs (in Chicago) and they tell me nothing except that a "parcel like this does not sit in customs very long so the local PO must have it"..
in otherwords, its in Constantinople right about now...
What a crappy first experience.
I will say again that E-cigs has been VERY professional and personal throughout this whole thing though.. v
