I wish is found this forum a week ago.... I'm new to this and I bet you all could have helped decide on a purchase. I'm looking to cut down and then completely stop smoking so I wanted a very realistic hit and taste from the e-cig. I bought a mini e-cig from Red Dragon. I went that route because it has a "cartomizer" so I thought it would be easier. I think it works well, but I have nothing to compare it to. Also, I don't think it tastes very authentic (I'm a pack/day MB Lights smoker). Just curious if anyone has tried the reddragon as well as other brands and could let me know if I'm on the right track. I don't see myself sticking with it without the authentic hit and taste. Any thoughts would be appreciated...Thank You! |

I started my vaping career with the RedDragon starter kit but quickly moved to the DSE 901 and then to the Janty Stick (801) and a PS Protege (801). I liked the idea of the cartomizer but wanted more/cheaper juice flavors closer to tobacco, better throat hit and vapor and much longer batt life. That was awhile ago and a lot has changed. You can now use cartos on many of the batt mods out there and there are many threads on refilling cartos. I've heard a lot of good things about VK and have recommended them to a friend as well. I suggest you try them and/or look at a batt mod that supports cartos. The JoyE510 right now seems to be the hit for near analog like smoking for vapor production and throat hit so you might try out one and see. Rocky Mountain Vapor has starter kits for $46 with free/fast shipping. |

Thank You! I will look at the e-cigs and subforums you both suggested. I appreciate your opinions. As a MBoroLight (I think you know the analog brand I'm referring to...LOL) smoker, I don't see myself continuing with the vaping without the authenticity. I'm reaching for the old standby and am looking for an e-cig that will produce very similar results. Also, is there anywhere on this forum or the web to help me with all the abbreviations and technical terms True Vapers use so I have a better understanding of what everyone is referring to. Thanks Again! |

You won't find smoke in vapor...period....sorry. For "like analog" you may want to try other flavors. They won't be like MBro but are like other brands and many have that tobacco bite. I like Kent, Hilton and Dunhill. Dunhill is the closest I've found to ejuice that tasted just like the Dunhuill Reds I smoked in college. MyFreedomSmokes has a great, 6x6ml sampler you could try - which is how I hooked on to my 3 favs. |

Maybe that's what I need...a Sampler pack to try out a bunch. I'm also wondering if I went too low on the Nicotine concentration. I bought what Red Dragon called "Medium" which is supposed to be 11mg. I went to check out the VK. They look very stylish and true to size, but it looks like there is an on/off button. I'm curious if that is a help or a hinderance. |

Also, Nubee...since you said you started with a Red Dragon maybe you would know this: Can I buy other companies cartomizers and use them on the Red Dragon? You may not know but thought I would ask.

Red Dragon is an E9 e-cigarette, GreenSmoke is another brand that I really liked with that style PV. If you're liking the Cartomizer, but not particularly the RD or E9, you should try the KR-808D1, I prefer the VaporKing from Vapor4Life.com; lots of vapor and great flavor. I've been analog free for just over 4 months thanks to Vapor4life. You should check out their sub-forum: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/ |

I bought a Red Dragon initially, but returned it. It worked as advertised, but there was no taste, and I could never feel the smoke going down. Perhaps the biggest strike against it for me was that the highest nicotine strength available in the pre-filled cartridges was 16mg, and I learned I needed a higher concentration if I was going to stay off analogs. I don't know your tobacco habit, but if you find you're still craving tobacco in a major way, I bet a stronger juice would do the trick for you. I got a 510 model and started using 24mg juice, and that was what I needed to switch completely to vaping. I'm 4 days into the switch, and so far, so good. My girlfriend can attest to the fact that I haven't lost my cool even once since I made the switch. Before, even using a step 1 patch, I would become a total d**k once that nicotine craving hit me. Now, they must not be hitting me, because I've been an angel |
