    Default 510 PCC Question

I just switched from an RN4072 to a 510 and I got the PCC as well. The top light on the PCC flashes once about every 5 seconds or so when I am charging a battery. Is this normal? The directions don't mention anything about it.

By the way, great to be on this forum. I have been vaping for about 2 months and I enjoy the wealth of info on this site. I've just been too lazy to post until now...

Hi tangogreen, yes it is normal for the upper tiny red LED to flash off every 5 seconds or so, that is exactly what mine does. After the batt is fully charged it will shut off completely and you can just leave the batt inside as it will not charge any further or drain any power from the lithium-ion batt inside the PCC itself.

I quit instantly with my first vape on 4 November 2009. Thank You ECF!

    Clarify the LED usage ...

Top (red LED only) - on when the 501 battery is inside and charging. It starts to flash as the battery charges - red stays on a long time with a quick flash when the battery is still low. As the battery charges, the 'red on' becomes shorter and the 'LED off' becomes longer. When fully charged the LED remains off. Need to watch that the LED is actually off to know it is fully charged.

Middle (red LED only) - comes on when PCC itself needs charging.

Bottom (red/green LED) - comes on red when the PCC battery is being charged while plugged into a USB power source. Turns to green when the PCC battery is fully charged.

Lights can be on in various combinations:
(bottom LED is only on when plugged into a USB power source)

Top red / middle red : indicates the 501 battery is still charging, but the PCC battery is getting low. (not common)

Top red / middle red / bottom red - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is still low, but being charged. (not common)

Top red / bottom red - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is also charging.

Top red / bottom green - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is fully charged

    Hope this helps

Thanks guys, that completely answered my question. This PCC is awesome! My "office" is a work van, so between the satellite radio, GPS, and FM transmitter my console was starting to look like an octopus of chargers. I don't know how I got along without it before.

Consider getting some of Totally Wicked's mega batts for the 510. They last about 2x as long as the regulars...good to have around for backup. They don't charge easily in the PCC though, although you can use a rubber band to hold it in to charge. The PCC will charge less of these, of course, since they are larger batts.

Great description of the PCC lights!

I would love to have a PCC that could charge two batteries at once! I find that I like to take three with me when I go out so that I have plenty of power. I'm still introducing friends to e-cigarettes so I often have two setups working at once, but I only have one PCC. Maybe I need to get a spare?

I know what you mean about the octopus of chargers... my bedside table is a maze of chargers and plugs. Sometimes it takes me a while to find the right plug for the charger I need! Maybe I should color code them or something?

    Good luck with your adventure!

Default Is my 510 pcc broke?

I have it plugged in to the usb the bottom light is red indicating the battery is fully charged correct? The second light is red indicating the battery is low? the charger does not charge a battery either. I have only had it 5 days. Is there a manufacture warranty on these or what can i do to fix it. 25 bucks down the drain i guess?

patamas1: the bottom light being red indicates the unit is in the process of being charged - when the light turns green the unit is fully charged and the middle red light, which indicates that the unit needs charging, should turn off

Hey everyone, my PCC bottom green light stays on all the time, even when not plugged in. It seems to be charging the 510 manual batteries when i put them in the case but that green light is always on. Anyone else ever have this happen?
