help picking first electronic cigarette

Ok I am non smoker for the most part. I enjoy smoking the occasionally, and mainly hookah. I tried an electric cigarette for the first time at a mall kiosk and found that the sensation is really close to hookah. I've decided I wanna go ahead and purchase one myself..but I'm not sure what I want to get. I've researched a couple of models.. and narrowed it down to these.

I've heard god things about the 901's and the 401's as well. The main thing I'm looking for is reliability, I dont want something that will be finicky or troublesome. I dont wanna have to worry about fiddeling with it in order to get it work carefully, or having to take super good care of it (not that i will abuse it). Which one of these would be the best for someone looking into electronic cigarettes?

A few more questions as well. Is either one of these better for dripping? Also, will the absolutlyecic m401 accept 901 mini carts?

You can't go wrong buying a penstyle kit from puresmoker. Best bang for the buck IMO.

If you can afford it, buy 2 kits and some juice on the first order. This way you'll have full parts redundancy, plus save on shipping.

Agreed. 2 kits + juice is the most rational 1st purchase if you can afford it. I might also tempt you into getting a USB pasthrough up front if you spend any time in front of a computer... otherwise you'll be getting one a few days later for separate shipping

The penstyle is awesome for battery life and vapor production, but the mini (DSE-901) is quite a bit smaller and very effective as well if that's important to you.

SuperStack is right on the money--Go for the Penstyle from Puresmoker as the battery and cartridge life both are the longest lasting then other models I have tried.

First of all, a 901 and a penstyle is two different devices. I have both the penstyle and 901 and my two recent purchases from absolutelyecigs have convinced me that their stuff is better.

I would recommend that you get both a penstyle and an M401 or 402 from absolutelyecigs.

Be sure to stock several atomisers and batteries. Some carts wouldn't hurt. They don't sell passthrough batteries but you could get a USB charger if you like. Just make sure you take full advantage of the flat shipping charges and not split your orders into two like i did!

M401 and 901 carts are not compatible.

Right now Im leaning towards the puresmoker penstyle or the mini. Not quite sure yet. I've heard nothing but solid reviews from both of these modesl. I also like the fact that I can get blank carts for either of these and use eliquid of my choice to fill the blanks. If anyone has any more input its more than welcom. Thanks everyone for the input.

I myself wasn't sure which style to get but after my husband talked to steve from puresmoker.com he went with the penstyle kit

I am very much in the same boat as yardsale. I am new to this and come from the hookah/cigar world.

I think I have made my decision and will order a DSE901 from puresmoker. I think I would rather have the DSE901 because it is smaller than the penstyle because I would rather just order the ecigar or screwdriver for a bigger unit for use at home.

I have a direct question about the atomizer. It is obvious that everyone says to order 1 or 2 spare atomizers to have on hand in case yours stops working. I am still unclear as to what happens to the atomizer? Do they get clogged and stop working - is this the main reason? Is their a way to clean the atomizer to prevent this or is just popping on a new atomizer the way to go?

I have had my Puresmoker Penstyle since day one 11-26-08 and haven't had a problem with it yet. The battery life is alot longer than the dse901. If you want something just to take out and look nice I would go with the dse901. If you want something that gives alot of vapor alot longer battery life I would definitely go with the Classic Penstyle.
If used on a daily basis
Battery length- mini 4-6 hours/ penstyle 6-8 hours
Atomizer/cartridge- mini 3-6 cigs /penstyle 6-8 cigs
Battery life- mini 3-4 weeks/ penstyle 1 month-2 months

All these are in my opinion: not what the suppliers tell you or manufacturers tell you.. but reality.
So a Better buy in all aspects is the Penstyle. If you don't want to worry about Batteries get the usb Passthrough battery. A Must if you smoke at the computer alot. It's like a new fresh battery everytime you vape.

I would also go with one extra atomizer because they usually last between 1 month -2 months. You Might also go with a 30ml bottle and a 10 ml bottle to get you through the first month of vaping especially if you are getting off the analogs for good.
