Default Help. Bad aftertaste with e-cigs?

    Hello all:

I'm new here. I got my first e-cig a month ago from a smokingeverywhere stand in the mall. At first it was working ok but later that day it started dripping the liquid into my mouth.

After getting a replacement and later trying to unsuccessfully get a refund, I decided to order the NCIG pen style from NJOY. The first thing I noticed when I tried it, is that it had a nasty aftertaste. I called them up and they sent me a replacement atomizer. Now with this new atomizer, I am getting worse aftertaste and dripping of the liquid.

Is this aftertaste normal? Did I just get a faulty atomizer, or is NJOY just not that good? Should I try anything to fix it before I send it back for a full refund?

Thanks for helping a newbie out.

I can't speak for the model, but Ive found that if you drip for a while after getting a new unit, that the taste subsides. Try 2 or 3 drops on the atomizer, and puff without inhaling until it starts to get dry. Repeat. Eventually you should get only the juice flavor in your puffs when you first drip it on, then you should be good to go.

Different models may need more or less work to get it right.

Hi Final Lap, welcome to the forum.

That bad taste might be the primer they put in the atomiser at the factory.

Try blowing through the atomiser from the battery end onto a tissue. Screw a tissue up and stuff it gently into the atomiser chamber until it touches the metal mesh to soak up excess liquid. Then drip three or four drops of eliquid into the atomiser and try vaping. That might take the bad taste away. If you don't have a bottle of eliquid you can squeeze some drops from the filler out of a cartridge.

hmm if you can get a refund Id do it and pick up the Penstyle from Steve at puresmoker.com and some extra carts and a bottle or 2 of juice all for the same price that you paid for the ncig probably even less. Im kicking myself in the head for not shopping around

Thank you all for all the help. I think I might just get the refund and get another brand instead. It's kinda overwhelming when you are new to all this and there are so many different options and things you need to do just to get it to work correctly. Do you think the "Penstyle from Steve at puresmoker.com" as suggested by chelu915 would be a good choice for a noob?

    thanks

I would suggest a silver bullet from Jane at electroniccigarettesales.com and her liquid is great also

The Pen style from PureSmoker is very good ... I'm new as well , got my Pen last Friday ... love it You still might want to do as Kate suggested ... to get rid of the factory oil ... nasty stuff it is .. but other than that .. they're great

Good luck and happy vaping !

    Final Lap,

You're in the U.S. so you CAN'T go wrong with Steve. He'll have you fixed up in a jiffy.

Penstyles are really the best bang for the buck - and Steve's prolly costs 1/2 what you paid. If you can get a refund from NJOY, that's the route I would take.

Sounds like the primer, smells like sweet chlorinated feet to me. Try smoking through it for a day, it should go away.
Hockey never left Chicago, but it has returned.

Thank you for your suggestions. Will probably buy from Steve and let you know how it went.
