Thanks for sharing your experiences all.
I will continue vaping and not smoking, and I just hope the psychological thought of wanting a cigarette will pass. I'm sure it will.
It does seem to get easier day by day though.
Cheers.

I am having a problem too with analogs. I have a new plan. Since I can't seem to quit analogs all at once. I am going to put my cigarettes in a box and only allow myself 5 a day. The rest of the time vaping. Do this for a week and go down to 4 a day etc. Until I have finally done it. I usually smoke 2 packs a day of analogs. Since vaping I am down to 1 pack a day. Everyone I am around smokes cigarettes. At work smoke all you want. So this is hard for me.

I had no intention of quitting but immediately found myself only having 3-4 a day after a 25 year habit of a pack and a half a day. That motivated me to give them up completely, which I did a couple of weeks into vaping.
So now I'm at just over a month. I do have times when I want a real one. It's few and far between now though - maybe once a week or so the thought crosses my mind. I know, logically, that I don't really want one. I know they taste like trash to me now, burns when I inhale (Yes, I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago just to see) and even make me feel a bit queasy. BUT, that said, there is an occasional brain fart where I think maybe it sounds good to me. That's mostly after a big meal or when stressed out about something. Old habits die hard, I guess. It only takes a second of my logical new mind to remind my old self that smoking isn't what I'm truly craving. Those times when I find I'm missing it, I put a couple of drops of stronger liquid in my cartridge and sit and vape. A few minutes later, that urge is gone.

like others have said, it's all about your frame of mind. I bought my first e-cigs in october 08 with the intention of quitting the analogues altogether. And I did.
Ecigs taste better, smell better and provide a better nic hit (if you use the right concentration of nic juice) than analogues ever did imho.

I've smoked 1 1/2 - 2 packs of analogs a day for 20 years. Never have been able to go 12 hours without one, and I tried all the normal methods to quit. I have had 2 analogs since I started vaping a week ago, and both of them were within the first 24 hours.
Whenever a craving hits, I ask myself what I want. Do I want the smoke? The hit at the back of the throat? The nicotine? all of these are present with my ecig. If it's the nasty smell and taste, the burning of the throat and lungs, the hacking cough, or something like that, I remind myself that I am no longer allowed to smoke indoors or in my car(self-imposed rule), so I have to go out into the freezing temps. That seems to help calm the cravings.
Just remember that you have to WANT to quit. And one great thing about vaping as a quitting method is that having one analog will not make you stop vaping and go back to smoking full time. If you fall off the wagon, it will catch you in a cloud of vapor and pull you right back on.
If God is watching us, the least we can do is provide some entertainment.

Keep at it.
1. Sell that sleeve of cigs and spend money on liquid.
2. Top off your carts. You will save more ££'s. Use the same cart for 2-3 days.
As others have posted the smell of a smoker a mile off is right on.
MY first e-cig arrived 20th Dec. Had 5 cigs left, they got smoked upto new years eve, 1 here and there at night. Didn''t really enjoy any of them. Not had one since 1/1.
Good luck.

I also purchased mine not with the intent to quit analogs, but in 2 days enjoyed it so much, the only time I would have one is when my battery was dead, the carts empty, or the unit was malfunctioning (yeah, thanks alot Smoke Everywhere).
When I get 2 or 3 e-cigs I like, quiting the real thing will be a piece of cake, I already enjoy them more than cigs. It just tastes better IMO.

I've still been smoking regular cigs (nowhere near as many as I used to. I think I've had four today), but I really haven't been enjoying them, so I've thrown out the cigs I had left, all lighters and ashtrays and this is it. I'm quitting smoking. I'm certainly not quitting the e-cigs.

Well done! And the other comments above are also encouraging. One thing that is bugging me now is the smell of other folks smoking, which is largely why I vape in the loos at work rather than join my colleagues in the smoking shelter with my Evo! Honestly, I have gone off the smell so much. Also TW menthol tastes way better than Richmonds menthol to me now. Hurray!
Just one thing - I have trouble using my ecigs outdoors, I feel like folk are watching me taking massive drags, so I do weaker puffs that do little. Gah!
One other positive though - I agree about falling off the wagon not leading back to full-time smoking. Vaping is a pretty nice safety net! I doubt I'd ever get back up to my previous cig count unless we went all Australian!
