cigs still on your mind?
Hey all.
I have had my e-cig for around 4 days now. I was wondering if you guys completely quit the cigs as soon as you got your e-cig? Well I did. But I'm still finding it quite hard even though I am getting my fix of nicotine. I used to be a 10-15 a day roll up smoker. If you did give up as soon as you got your e-cig, how long did it take before you stopped "missing" cigarettes?
thanks

Hiya Dan,
I gave up nearly four months ago and wouldn't entertain a real cig now.
The first couple of weeks were the hardest, especially first thing of a morning driving to work. Others on the forum have said it's hit them after a eating.
I noticed after a couple of weeks that I wasn't yearning for a real cig anymore, it was the e-cig I had pictured in my mind. Might've been easier because I found I really liked coffee flavour. If you have a favourite flavour it gives you something to look forward to and takes some of the quitting pain away.
Best of Luck!

thanks mate, I appreciate the post. It's a real pain when there's a fresh sealed 200 carton in the house lol

Dan...i think determination and the right mind set are important if youre struggling...
you are at an early stage, and real smoking is still very fresh in your mind...just tough it out,and it'll eventually get easier...
i was a 20-30 a day golden virginia roller, and occasionally i still give them the odd thought...but now its more in a nostalgic way than anything else...
if you want to quit fags,i suggest getting rid any fags in the house...otherwise its just temptation thats always there...
i think its important to find an ecig you like, and eliquid to your taste that satisfies you as well...its early days mate...

Thanks Darcy.
I have found my favourite e-cigarette so far is the intellicig. However I was thinking of filling up my dse901 with e-liquid not too sure though.
Just received 75 cartridges for my intellicig this morning so they should last me a while. Yet to try menthol (ordered a trial pack).

Hi Dan,
I bought my first nic-vaporizer purely so I could continue "smoking" without stinking up my house during the winter, I had NO INTENTION of quitting analogs, and used both for a month. Then, during a holiday trip to visit family (none of whom smoke, all thrilled by my new device, allowed me to use it IN THEIR HOME) I stopped analogs completely, without even thinking about it. It's now been a month since I used tobacco, and the only time I think about analogs is when I pass someone on the street using one of those foul-smelling things.
Be patient with yourself, and just have fun experimenting with the nic-vaporizer.
Good luck!

I bought my first e cig thinking that I would use it when I was somewhere that I could not smoke. Didn't intend to quit analogs, but haven't had a cig since I started vaping. If I think about it, I mentally want a cig,but not physically. It's been 10 days for me so I guess it will take a while to stop thinking about the old habit.

Vap for 3 days then retry your analog
Dan, I vaped for only two days, then tried a cigarette again and it tasted nasty!! After a week I could smell the stench of others who smoke even when they were not smoking--I said to myself, Did I smell like that all these years--that is nasty. It has been 2 months now and I can smell a real "smoker" a mile away. I also took a hit off one a couple of weeks ago a coughed my brains out--Hope you have the same experience. I do not miss nor will I ever smoke an analog again

Hi Dan!
Think you done well to go cold turkey on analogs, It took me a week or so to ween myself off them after meals, first thing in morning etc was worst! Then one morning didn`t have one and never looked back! Like sun vapour says try a cig after a few days they taste awful! I still like smell of them as my missus smokes but don`t want one just get a niggle now and again but after 20 years of smoking suppose it to be expected? I also have a emergency pack in my work bag but not touched them and hopefully wont they just in case of electrical melt down
