    Default Social Smoking?

So, I'm supposed to be getting ready for work right now.. LOL

Anyway, I usually spend quite a bit of time with my boss who says "wanna burn one"... Then we go outside, have a smoke and solve the world's problems...

Friday, I had brought my e-cig to work and was puffing away at my desk so when my boss asked, I really didn't want to but kinda have to LOL

At any rate, how do ya'll handle things like this? Just go outside with the vapor and go for it? I don't know how he will react to the e-cig... either he is going to rag me for it or want one himself...

As long as it's not cold or raining, I'd go out with him. Why give up the social experience? He may be curious, he may even become a convert. But even if not, I'm sure he won't ban you from the smokin circle.

Oh I know I'm going to have arguments at bars, restaurants you name it, should be quite interesting though.

Isn't it funny the bonds that can be made around an outdoor ash-can? One in our circle quit smoking about 2 yrs ago using Chantix. (This is past tense since I quit to be a housewife about a year ago when my hubby changed jobs and needed more help at home). She never stopped taking smoke breaks with the rest of us. She'd come out, socialize and regroup to continue on with the day. Sometimes, when she was under stress, she'd come get me for a smoke break. No one had any issues with the fact she wasn't actually smoking. We were all very proud of her. I can't imagine a smoker not being welcoming to your e-cig around the ash-can. Now, if you approached it differently, with attitude, such as mocking cos you can vape at your desk when they have to go out in the weather....I'd see that as being shunned.

I believe the one reason the e-cig is working so well for me is the calming from stress. You know, the moment you just gotta have a break and you get out away from it all and get that deep long draw and everything clears. You can focus on finding resolution. You've stepped away to get perspective. Nothing else has ever offered a solution for that.

Think about how you'd view something like this from the other side....well, your view was obviously positive since you now own one and just approach him the way you'd think you would have been receptive to it.

Well for me the people at work know about my e-cigarette.
Now they say " come out and have an e-smoke with us"

Nothing ever more than that, except the occasional "are you still smoking those things"

I have continued to take the regular "smoke" breaks with the smokers. The first time there was a lot of "what the hell are you smoking" and a lot of explanation. But after that no one even bats an eye towards the e-cig. It is normal now and most are even looking into getting one of their own after seeing my success. But no, I can't let go of the social side of smoking, gotta take the smoke breaks as usual.

I think it is easier to stop smoking if you stay with your same routine when e-smoking.
Just seems easier on the cravings.

    Ditto for me

FYI - Rob (aka halopunker) owner of altsmoke is my son and I will plug his business whenever I can! I am in no way affiliated with his company other than being his mom. I also buy from other vendors and try to be fair in all my recommendations.

I still plan on going outside to e-smoke, so I'll still be able to get interaction with the boss lady, while enjoying vaping and laying off the analogs.

    Best of both worlds!

I have found that the e-cig bond is even stronger than the social smoking bond. You promote the e-cig to others and then if they pick it up... you have someone to share opinions and info with.
