NOOB needs help :(
First I would like to say thank you to the ECF! There is so much useful information on this site. I am having a problem though...I am on my 3rd day with my new 510. 25mg eco-pure menthol juice. It is not satisfying me totally. I still have a constant craving for analogs....even when I let the temptation suck me in, and I light up an analog, I AM STILL NOT SATISFIED...I feel like im the only one as I have not found any similar stories. I am getting tons of vapor. Im positive the 510 is working correctly, I just cant seem to be satisfied. Ive cut my analogs to 5 a day compared to 25 a day...but it is almost unbearable to not smoke an analog. Will this pass? I am trying my hardest and trying to stay positive, but Im afraid I wont be successful at quiting analogs...O and im really sleepy as well...which is weird since I read that side effects might included sleepless nights...idk. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance to all who reply

While everyone is different, I do believe the urge for an analog will get easier in time. I was still smoking my analog for almost 2 weeks when I started vaping. I was smoking 3 packs a day for almost 30 years and as of today I am completely analog free for over 18 days. Just stay with it and do not the analogs win. There is nothing wrong to be still be smoking when you first start off vaping, you will find the need for a full blown smoke to get easier and easier.

I vaped for 8 days and my cigarette consumption decreased without effort. For the next three days, I was “stuck” at 2-3 cigarettes per day. This is when I decided to quit. I have now been smoke free for 47 days. I still get mild cravings for cigarettes, but nothing I cannot handle. It should be noted that over my 25 years of smoking, I only quit a couple of times for about 24 hours; and that was using the patch and I was going a bit insane with cravings. When I first started vaping I was craving cigarettes very strongly, I increased the nicotine from 24 mg / ml to 36 mg / ml. This help tremendously with my cravings.
My advice would be take it slow; every cigarette avoided is a plus. Not everybody can quit immediately with e-cigs. Just have a cigarette when you REALLY need one. I bet as the days pass you will find yourself smoking less and less. Don’t beat yourself up over having a few cigarettes; instead be happy at your accomplishments. In addition, maybe get some e-juice with a higher nicotine concentration—it helped me quite a bit.
Good luck

bomex, I believe that Jimi Mack is right. It will get easier and I really have not fought the urge to use analogs. I had about a half carton when I quit, and that was Nov 1. I will likely finish that carton, think the most I've smoked per day on reg was 4, but I do think when they are all gone...I will have no problem what so ever in being completely without them. I am finding the right equipment and the right juice for me is my ticket to complete success. Hang in there my friend! B

It took me a while. One thing I would say is only buy your analog one pack at a time. When your pack runs out you might more of a hassle to go get another pack then its worth

I had a similar problem. I still after vaping had an extreme urge for an analog, I thought, but upon smoking one I still had the yen. The analog didn't satisfy me either. I think it's the habit of standing outside where I used to smoke, lighting and all the other mechanics of smoking. I'm not sure but one thing I knew is it was mental so I just quit giving in to it and it's getting alot easier as time passes. Good luck and keep up the good work. Everybody has their own approach so don't give up.

I had no problems putting the analogs down, but wanted to say...vaping made me very tired in the beginning!

There are a lot of people that can instantly put the analogs down and never look back. There are also a lot of people that have just really cut down. I still haven't been able to completely kick the cigs but I keep getting closer. Like you, I started out with the 510 and was not completely satisfied. Now I have bought an adapter and I am using cartomizers like the kr808 use. This is going to be my answer but also I have tried snus. Snus is also new to me but I think it will replace what the e-cigs lack. Snus, like the e-cigs, are discreet and you do not spit. That is my experience so far. Hang in there!

You may want to try a differrent flavor and/or increasing the nicotine level a bit. I finally settled in at 30 to 36mg liquids. Also, some people are not satisfied by nicotine alone. You may have a need for other ingredients in tobacco. Many such people (including me) find that they're satisfied by supplementing vaping with "Swedish snus".
And as others have said, it may take some time. When I started vaping I reduced my cigarette consumption over a month to about 5 cigarettes per day. Then I slowly reduced further and eventually (after four months) kicked the last two or three cigarettes per day by using a few snus per day.
I suggest taking it slowly, do whatever works for you and don't beat yourself up about it.

I agree with Mister. For many here vaping nic is not enough, me included. I haven't tried snus yet, but I still smoke 2 -3 analogs a day to stay sane. Much better than the 1+ pack a day before. Tobacco contains other alkaloids that the brain craves other than nic. Do not beat yourself up over how fast you are quitting analogs, or if you are completely. It is a journey, and PVs were never meant to be cessation devices, in fact a judge just ruled against the FDA that they were not cessation devices, but simply recreational tobacco products. Take your time, vaping is not a quitting contest, it is just another non-smoking alternative, like snus, snuff, Stonewalls, and the like. If you are significantly cutting back on analogs, you are ahead of the game! Relax and enjoy your own journey.
