    Default Hello

    Hi,

I came across this forum while looking into some e-cigs with the hope of being able to quit smoking, and have found it to be very useful (not in the least, the avoid-these-providers sticky). After doing some reading here, I've decided to give it a go, and I was thinking to use theelectroniccigarette.co.uk. Seems to me it's been recommended by others on this forum and the site itself also inspires some degree of trust, while it's one of the geographically closest to me, as well - not to mention they actually have goods in stock. Does this seem like a good choice?

My second question is about my choice of e-cig. When I started smoking, I started out with cigarettes with the content of ugliness, i.e. tar, nicotine, and CO, the same as Marlboro lights, and smoked in the sub-ten-a-day range. A couple of years ago, I downgraded to cigarettes having half of the contents of Marlboro lights, which really wasn't a problem at all. After having smoked those for a little while, though, I found a brand with even less poison in it (0.1 mg nicotine, 1 mg tar and 2 mg CO). However, this time I found myself greatly increasing the number of smokes smoked every day; all of a sudden I smoked 15-20. This continued for a while, but lately I've been able to reduce it to a more bearable level, which is about ten a day. Based on my "smoking history", d'you think the Super Mini is the best choice for me? I kinda like the looks of it (as far as one could like the looks of a cigarette), and the mouth-piece doesn't have the biting grooves on it, which I hate since having tried extra tar filters for a while.

Thirdly, is it possible to get liquid with less nicotine than 8 mg (which is the lowest I've found at theelectroniccigarette/totallywicked)?. Since I'm smoking ten or less (lest there be alcohol involved) 0.1 mg cigarettes a day, it seems to me that 8 mg/ml may be a little excessive.

Furthermore, are the prefilled cartridges refillable, as well, or is that only those which are marked as "refillable"?

Now, on to what I was actually thinking of buying.
    Item ID Description Total
    TECC0246 - White Super (10cm) Full E.Cig Kit - £59.99
    TECC0249 - 25 Cartridges (Variety of Flavours) for Black Super E.Cig (LOW) - £12.99
    TECC0216 - 10 Cartridges (Tobacco Flavour) for Black Super E.Cig (NO) - £7.99
    TECC0200 - 10 Empty Refillable Cartridges for Super E.Cig - £3.99
    TECC0195 - Totally Wicked E.Smoking Liquid (30ml)-Tobacco flavour (LOW) - £22.99
    TECC0216 - 10 Cartridges (Tobacco Flavour) for Black Super E.Cig (LOW) - £7.99
    TECCFR51 - **FREE** Atomizer for White Super E.Cig - £0.00
    Shipping: £10.95
    Total: £126.89 (+ 25% VAT).

My question is, simply, is it too much? I went with the Full Kit, because the mains charger isn't compatible with where I live, so I needed another one, and when getting an extra atomizer in the Full Kit (not the free one, I got that because I ordered a huzzah worth of cartridges and liquid), I really didn't pay much for the extra stuff if you compared it to the Starter Kit. Anyways, is it overkill for a first time purchase when considering that getting any more stuff will probably have a delivery time of, in the very least, a week?

You thought I'd be finished asking by now, didn't you? But no, coz I got mese'f some more'n them crazy questioms. This isn't really related to my purchase, but I was wondering if you really can feel a difference, lung-wisely speaking. Does your throat/chest clear up? In short: does it help?

And one last one If you drink considerable amounts of alcohol, you're going to feel like crap the next day, no matter what. However, if you don't smoke when you're drinking, you're not gonna feel nearly as bad as when you do. Is there a difference when using e-cigs compared to regular ones?

That's it for me. I'm sorry about the longevity of this post, but I always end up writing a whole lot longer than necessary (and I'm also really sorry about all the parenthetical statements; this is something I can't seem to rid myself of, as well); especially when it's the first time I post to a forum. I think it's a genetical error, or maybe I'm just trying to compensate for something....

Hi Beetlejuice, welcome to the forum and the weird and wonderful world of vaping.

The seller you've picked is a good one. The device you are thinking of getting polled lowest on a preference poll, most people say to stay clear of these.

TECCo is now selling the Joye501/Titan which is the same as the Janty Dura. I'd look for reviews on that if I were you, it's a better option for you.

You'll want to start with 2x atomisers, min 2x batteries, 1x charger, 10 or so cartridges and a couple of bottles of eliquid. You can refill any cartridges, when they get too manky to use you can wash the filler in water and use them a bit more. Eventually you'll need new ones but try a small number first before getting loads. The prefilled ones usually don't taste too good so smart people refill with eliquid, it's cheaper that way too.

Most of us do say our lungs are clearer and we can breathe better without the tobacco, even with vaping.

I'll let someone else tell you about the effects of alcohol

    Beetlejuice,

I was a much heavier smoker than you, and I gave up smoking with my first drag off an e-cigar. Within the first few days I noticed that I was suddenly smelling things I never noticed before. I am only two weeks in so far, but I really have no desire to ever go back to smoking.

Regarding models, the 901 seems to be the most popular ones available. I ordered one of them from Totally Wicked and I really like it. I am currently going back and forth between the 901 and the e-cigar. Even using the same e-liquid, they feel and taste different between the two models.

If you are anything like me, you may find yourself wanting to keep trying and experimenting with different models.

There are at least three very good e-cigarette forums out there that will be able to help you in your choice. I have been looking at all three almost daily.

    Good luck to you.

Oh, just one more thing: what/who is TECCo?

The Electronic Cigarette Co. UK, the one you asked about that's near you

The Electronic Cigarette Company - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

The DSE901 mini is also a good device but is going out of fashion in my opinion, the 501 or M401/Evo look likely to replace it for popularity.

    Kate,

was it really necessary to make me want to try those models now? :-)

I was really hoping this would be less expensive that smoking........

I have only been doing this for two weeks and I have already purchased two models.....

    Sorrrrrrieeeee

That's one of the things you'll find about reading the forums, you'll want to try every device and flavour. This can be an expensive hobby.

@Kate: Alrighty, feeling slightly embarrassed for not catching on to that one. And, calling it "near me" may be a slight exaggeration, but at least we're on the same hemisphere.

@itsbetterthansmoking: Appreciate your replying. Going with two different (cheaper) models doesn't sound like a bad at all :-)

Oops, sorry, when I said 501 above I meant 510/Joye510.
