yes......and no. 18mg is per ml.

but as far as nic intake by vaping compared to analog's some say it is close/ 14-22 mg is a pack of smokes. Some vapers need less intake and some need more. They way you inhale seems to affect everyone differently.

A more specific question would be easier to answer.( although there is no exact answer)

There is a great deal of misrepresentation of nicotine in this thread. 60mg of nicotine IS NOT LETHAL to human beings. A lethal amount of nicotine for humans is 60mg PER KILOGRAM of body weight. In other words, if you weigh 100 pounds (45.36kg) the amount of nicotine you would have to ingest to be killed would be 60mg x 45.36, or 2721.6mg (2.72 grams) of nicotine.

A 10ml bottle of 18mg nicotine liquid has 180 milligrams of nicotine, so someone weighing 100 lbs. would have to ingest FIFTEEN bottles of that liquid in order to die.

No offense to those who said 60mg of nicotine is lethal... but that just isn't correct. It is 60mg per kilogram of body weight. BIG difference.

Oh I want to believe you but how do I know those facts are correct? How come a supplier has not not chimed in on the straight dope of the correct answer? Or maybe you have?

that's 60mg per kg of PURE nicotine right?...is that the amount needed to be absorbed into the blood stream or just the amount ingested? I.e. With vaping its estimated that only 1/3- 1/10 of the nicotine inhaled is actually absorbed by the body, through the skin it maybe less....is 100% absorbed if swallowed?

I remember reading it somewhere online, not sure where. But I am fairly certain I am remembering it correctly.

In fact, I can prove that 60mg of nicotine isn't enough to kill. I vape the 36mg liquid exclusively... meaning 36mg of nicotine per milliliter. I vape between 4 and 5 ml each day, meaning I take in 144 to 180 mg of nicotine each day. If 60mg of nicotine is lethal, I hardly think I'd be able to take in 2 to 3 times that amount every day and still feel BETTER than I felt when I smoked analogs.

I think I'm starting to understand the ratio of nicotine to liquid, i.e. 36mg e-juice contains 36mg per ml. Is that a liquid measurement or dry? After researching I've seen a post on Yahoo Answers that the nicotine is extracted into a final product being crystals. When use the other method of soaking, straining and boil down I get this disgustingly black liquid.

So... would 36mg of the black liquid be the same as 36mg of the crystallized nicotine? Obviously I'm still doing something wrong because commercial e-juice is almost clear whereas the stuff I make is the color of pancake syrup.
