Beyond that, check out "The Modder's Forum" on here for info on using up to 3000mAh off-the-shelf, standard Li Ion batteries that you would buy a standard proprietary battery charger for and house it in an enclosure of your choice with the appropriate connector.
If you, or a friend, can follow the step-by-step posts from these guys and gals, the savings (using standard off-the-shelf components) is unbelievable! You can buy a 3000mAh Protected Li Ion battery for $6.
Good Luck!
.
The 380mAh has 136% the capacity of the 280mAh,- are you referring to a battery? If so where does it state the capacity, never seen it stated on any sight I have been on. I do have a pen style battery.

Erm . . . you're probably distracted with work or something? I explained mAh capacity of a battery in post #6 of this thread and you quoted me in your post #9 of this thread ... it's one of those words in red letters?
Yep, the capacity of little batteries is expressed in milliamps; the capacity of bigger batteries is expressed in Amps (Amperes). There's 1000 little tiny milliamps in 1 Amp. When the capacity is applied to time, mAh means milliamp hours. (500mAh = 0.5Ah)
OK, now IF (if ... if ... if) your 280mAh battery powers a device for 280 minutes (as an example), then a 380mAh battery will power that device for 380 minutes (in theory, and assuming the exact same conditions).
Now, re: the 3000mAh Li Ion battery - that is not going to fit into an enclosure the size of your penlight case. It is going to be about 18mm in diameter; your penlight battery is about 8mm in diameter. So ... that's why it's called a "mod" (modification). The reason for "modding" is to get more capacity (longer usage time per charge) and economy (these are off-the-shelf batteries) and utility (they are easily replaced).
The easiest "non-mod" for you would be the KR 380mAh battery - re-read the reasons in my last post.
Good Luck!

Well as it turns out I have the 380 mAH battery , which is what I was trying to figure out. I really do not see much difference in it than the others that are lower.I only bought it later because I liked the pen style.
As I said I am not up on the components or how they work and most of the sites do not explain their differences or uses. Thanks for the info.

Oh I don't think that is necessary, I have looked at a few and think if I decide to order one it will be ok. They are just bigger than I wanted to go.
