    Default gluten content of eliquids?

I was just wondering if anyone out there knows whether or not any e-liquids contain gluten. I have celiacs disease so it kind of important that i know about this. I would assume not seeing as its either pg or vg based. i was mostly wondering about the flavorings they use. thanks a million in advance

Nic, most of the websites which carry eliquid will have the ingrediants listed. If not, I would certainly email them to make sure.

They probably do because they have natural and artificial flavorings, and those can certainly contain gluten.

I'm not sure it's an issue, though, because gluten causes damage to the intestines as it travels through the digestive system. Since I'm inhaling the flavorings instead of ingesting them, I haven't considered it an issue. Perhaps a chat with the doc is in order.

It would be possible to have a GF juice, but it would require finding out which of the flavorings are GF, and possibly making the juice up for oneself.

Gluten is a gastro-intestinal thing. I can't imagine even if you vaped liquified gluten that you'd have an issue.

Celiac is an immunological response to gluten. That means your body will react badly to it and that may not matter how you ingest it. Gluten usually ends up in the intestinal tract through food but I'd be careful of vaping it as well.

You know the drill, I'm sure, so just be careful. Good luck!

*sigh* I've been thinking about this today since reading Nic's original post, and I was coming to the same conclusion but unable to figure out why I was beginning to have reservations about it. Thanks, Metstoo.

But, on the bright side, I just checked the LorAnn website, and it appears that their candy flavoring oils are gluten free. These are the ones that most people seem to use for flavoring, aren't they? https://www.lorannoils.com/c-6-super...andy-oils.aspx

I have a friend with celiac so we've done some reading and research. It's amazing how many things you find gluten in! My friend is so sensitive that she can get sick if food is even prepared on the same surfaces as anything with gluten has been prepared on.

There is no gluten in e-juices that I know of. I have dozens of flavors and none have gluten in them, nor have I ever seen it listed. Not saying there are no flavors with it, but if anyone knows of any, please list them. Gluten in an e-juice would be a serious problem for the atty, besides the health concerns in this thread. I for one, would avoid such a flavor. It would gum up everything. All flavors I have used are simply flavor compounds, PG or VG, and maybe some water.

Yes, none of the Lorann's or Capellas have gluten that I have ever seen.
