Long Road to get here!
Just thought I would say Hi to everyone. You have quite a forum here. Too many choices, too many opinions. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Not sure what to order but I'll get there. "Go big or stay at home".
For anyone who is deciding if you want to quit for health reasons, I think it would be a wise decision. I did not want to quit analogs, but quite a few doctors changed my mind. If you think it is just your lungs, how about your heart? Smoking is pretty rough on it. I went to work one fine day and woke up to this loud annoying noise, i'm like WTF.
Well i'm on a helicopter being life flighted 150 mi from my home to the hospital because I had a heart attack. They blow me into surgery and 11 hours later I wake up and realize I hurt so bad. Tried to sit up, forget it. "got Morphine?"
Well the docs lit me up pretty good over smoking, over and over, because other than that I was pretty healthy. So I quit, but now that I'm feeling better and still cannot go back to work for another month the craving is coming back and it's on my mind. So I think the E-cig would be a wiser choice since some of you seem to enjoy it so much.
My other choice is to lay in a surgery room again with my heart totally out in a bucket of ice. They stripped the veins from my legs to use to repair my three bad arteries. Then they shot 15 holes in my heart with a laser to cause damage so the damaged areas would regrow some new veins. I think I'll stay off the smokes, that crap makes your blood as thick as cake batter. Plus the pain you live through with your chest wire together was to much for me.
Been a long road.

Welcome, aigoldendogs - sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you find a model that works for you and I'm glad you feel like a kid in a candy store - compared to standing at the counter in the gas station looking at cigarette deals - I personally really think the analogy fits. Wish you success upon success and never fail to ask a question as we will come 'a answerin' (whether we know what we're talking about or not...I'm just a silly old noob).

aigoldendogs: Welcome to the forums! Like tarheeldan says ask, ask, ask! Or, read, read, read! There's tons of great information out there, and this forum does a swell job of weeding out a lot of the bull.....
Even when there is a difference of opinion we remain civil?
Of course we do!
That was quite an experience you had with your open heart. I'm glad you've taken the steps to keep curbed, your analog addiction.
Keep fighting the good fight, we are all in this together.

when you get older you realize that the kid in a candy store made a fundamental error....the candy store would still be there tomorrow and so would he.....buy something....if you don't like it, buy something else.....you can probably sell anything you don't like on the swap forum and recoup most of your investment....

Thanks all, My wifes wants to get off them too and she is doing a good job keeping them away from me. So after reading all day I think I'm gonna order a Joye 501 and the DSE 905, I want to add a third either a Janty Stick or a Ego but i'm undecided over those two. I'll see which one I like, then keep the others for backup or give the other ones away. Who knows sitting around home kinda sticks so maybe a science project would work
in mixin up some juice.

Hi aigoldendogs, I can relate to your story. Hoping your doing better. After finding out about e-cigs a couple weeks ago and looking at all the sites I was somewhat confused on where to start what to buy etc. Then I found this forum and before joining lurked in the shadows and read everything I could. I made my first order last night and can't wait.

Well I'll agree, you picked out a nice line-up for the top models out. You should find your liking with one of those choices. I wouldnt say necessary to order them all at once, unless $$ isnt much of an issue. Good luck!

I think the most overwhelming part of reading and making a decision on what to buy is the abbreviations and jargon that we use. That's why we have the Library, a newly added feature for just this purpose. You can go there and see pictures of the different models and get some clarification on the E-cig slang that is so often used here. Best of luck changing to a healthier habit, I think you will find that the E-cig was made for you. Sorry you had to undergo a CABG, but at least you have an option that wasn't available a few years ago.
Happy vaping, Elapid---<
Edit to add, your Dogs look wonderful!

I'm very glad that you're doing better now. I would suggest that you vape low nicotine because nicotine raises your heart rate and I don't think that higher nic dosages will do your heart much good. BTW, welcome, fellow Washingtonian! GOOD LUCK!
