510 carts

HI there,

Just a quick question, might be a bit silly but I have to ask - do anyone know what type of filter/fabric (I really have no clue how to call it) is inside the 510 cart, and where could I get such a fabric ? Got few empty carts and don't want to waste them. I know that carts are not really pricey, but I had to ask

I've been a long fan of the MarineLand Blue Foam plug mod, but since moved on to the ZFM (zero filler mod) and loving it.

Hey Smokum, how do you use the blue foam? I got an order from Strictlyejuice and they are cut to little squares. I thought they would be about the length of a cart for a 510. I need to know how many and what type of placement to use.

Don't buy the ones from Strictly! They are absolutely terrible! IMO, go to the pet store and purchase the blue foam and cut it yourself! You will be much happier that you did!

I got to the petsmart and buy the Fluval Filler it is in the fish filter section. then i trim to the size of the cart and use use tweezers to put it in.

I also use the Frayed PTB method ( youtube has a video on how to do this and it is super easy), that is my favorite. In the mod section of the forum they have tons of info on this. I would post a link but i dont know how too.

That's what I do. I've tried plug mods and gosh knows how many other mods and different materials... But I always go back to this simple method- less leaking issues. (Although I'm pretty anxious to try the zero filler mod myself!)

Got some of the stuff from Petco the Marineland Rite Size U and compared it to the strictly Ej shipment. Its the exact same stuff. Im really surprised that the inside of a cart is not as long as the outside...seems like you can only get down about 75%, but the square cuts that Strictly seem to be cut just right. I will try various sizes. Man that polyfiller really is flimsy stuff!

yeah I got some from strictlyejuice and its fine. Fits the cart perfectly, seems to wick well too. Got some along with their RY4 which Ive become strangely addicted to
