getting ready to buy/liquid questions
I'm getting ready to purchase my first e-cig (901) and have really been using this great site - however, my sister and I are both approx. 10 cig a day smokers. Because I'm getting more and more confused about liquid amounts/sizes, etc., can someone give me a heads up about what would be a good ml size to purchase - I'm guessing it's easier/more affordable to buy a 30ml and dilute accordingly (which also confuses me...PG, VG, etc? What the H
?) Or get Medium strength? Or make our own with unflavored and add flavorings??? Sorry, I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the diluting/mixing/liquid aspect....I've found some answers on the site, but not for the lower end smoker. We've both smoked for 15 years and are SO EXCITED about vaping!!!

Don't feel overwhelmed!
It's best to keep things simple at first. This site has people in varying stages of this lifestyle, so you'll be reading technical talk from people that have been doing this a long time.
No need to worry about a lot of that now.
You have, however, made a great determination in looking into liquids to supplement your vaping. It's really the best thing to do.
While 30ml bottles are always going to be a good bet, it's probably best that you start off with a sample pack or smaller bottles of different flavors. This way, you'll be able to figure out what works for you, instead of being saddled with a big bottle of a juice you don't really care for.
Most vendors will be selling PG or Propylene Glycol juice. It's the standard delivery method. Johnson's Creek has a big selection of the VG or Vegetable Glycerine juice, as well. It's really up to you as to what you like the most. Some people have allergies to PG, so VG becomes a great solution.
It's best, as a new smoker, to try something around 11mg juice or slightly under. That way, you'll be able to gauge your nicotine needs, and adjust them accordingly. After you get that figured out, you'll have a better idea of what to buy in the future.
I hope that's helpful!
Also, as a new vaper, you need to make sure you're ready to purchase additional atomizers and batteries, as the equipment isn't always the most dependable. It's always best to have replacement parts from the start. That way, if you have to send anything back due to failure, you're not going without.

Just to underscore D's good reply - when you say 30ml that is the amount in the bottle, and so would not be 'diluted accordingly'.
The nicotine strength such as medium, that is in mg such as 11mg.
So you can get a 30ml sized bottle in 11mg strength nicotine, or a 10ml sized bottle in 11mg strength nicotine, etc.

I've been at this just over a week. My 10ml bottel of Pure smoker Marlbrough has lasted this long and I have just under 1/2 a bottle left.
I like starting out with the cigarette taste, and I have been adding a few drops of cherry liquid (which I would not recomend smoking by it's self).
I smoked about as much as you guys do and I found the medium is a nice place to start.
I would highly suggest getting 10ml bottles b/c they last so long and chances are your taste is going to change as you get into this. I would get a variety pack then buy bigger bottles of my favorite.
IE this cherry I don't like it by it's self but I just chew a piece of gum with it and it's fine. I always chewed gum when I smoked analogs anyway as I hated the taste of cigarettes... I know I know...
