I've had my Npro for a little over a week now, and let me tell you..

Like the others have mentioned, the cart's do NOT nearly as long as advertised. Especially on the super-mini's like the Npro.

I usually rush into things and compulsively buy items that I regret later, but honestly, this is not the case with the Npro. Njoy actually manufactures some pretty solid pieces. The only thing you need to absolutely look out for is to no dry smoke your e-cig, and that's what you have been doing.

Get your hands on some e-liquid (www dot johnsoncreeksmokejuice dot com or puresmoker dot com) and top off your dried out carts on a regular basis.

It's slightly tricky to top off the npro carts, but the way that works for me is simply steadily drip 2-3 drops into the center of your cart so it drips right on the filter-piece.

Also, primer-puffs are a must for the Npro, especially if you haven't used it for a little while, the atomizer doesn't heat up as quickly as it does on other models, so you cannot expect a great smoke the second you pick it up in the morning. Give it a few primer-puffs (Just like when you're first lighting up a real cig) and vape away.

The batteries last pretty darn short on these things, you will notice that quickly. My piece is good at letting me know when I need to charge (blinks rapidly for like 10 seconds) but I have started to charge it even before the indication when I notice a big decrease in vapor production if I have a filled up cart.

Also, most atomizers need to "break in". Meaning they don't function as well when they're right out of the box. It actually took me about 4 days of using my Npro before the atomizer finally came into its own and I was producing 2x the vapor and was getting a significantly better throat hit.

Give it a week and you will know all of the troubleshooting issues and maintenance tips and tricks, I guarantee it.

In the mean time though, get yourself some e-juice. You will not regret it.

thanks guys! lot's of good advice here. I called NJOY and they are sending me a new atomizer, and I am going to order some juice. After reading what you guys have said, I believe I probabley was "dry smoking" these cartridges and also expecting too much battery life. I've readjusted my thought process about how long these things last and I'm already getting the hang of it better. Not sure I need a new atomizer, but ones in the mail anyway, so I'll start over the right way with that one now!

    Thanks!

Make sure the atomiser is not too wet or dry and that you are using a fully charged battery. Get your draw technique worked out, long, slow and just heavy enough to light the battery LED. If you inhale for too long the battery will cut out.

If it's not getting warm at all it's dead and you need a new one.

If it is heating then try getting the right amount of eliquid in it.

First, in case it's flooded, blow through the battery end onto a tissue to blow excess liquid out. Then put a blank mouthpiece on and vape. If it gives vapour then it was flooded and you should vape a little to dry it a bit and then put a full cartridge on before it gets too dry.

If that doesn't work then it might be too dry. Drip a couple of drops of eliquid into the atomiser mesh, replace the mouthpiece and vape.

    See if that helps.

    EDIT
Swap those procedures around so you check for dryness first, otherwise you might make a dry atomiser even more dry and that's not good. Too wet isn't as big a problem.

You know, if it doesn't heat up that doesn't necessarily mean it's dead. One of my batteries is more finicky than the other, and sometimes when I try and puff, the light turns on but no smoke is produced. I have to suck REALLY hard for a couple of hits and then eventually it starts making smoke, little by little until it begins to work again. If I put it down too long, it stops working.

A trick I have learned that helps sometimes is to cover the hole(s).. not the ones by the LED or the one for your mouth, but there is usually a hole or four holes you can cover with your hand/fingers -- for a second as you suck so that pressure builds but no smoke can escape. This should turn your LED light on right away if it's hard to get yours to turn on, and if you release and keep sucking steadily it will often help you get a hit and it should work better the next time. Just try and mess with it I would recommend so you don't have to wait for a replacement when you can just adapt to the ones you've got.

I don't have the same ecig you do, but I think a good rule of thumb is get yourself 5-10 cartridges and carry them with you in a case. The very moment you notice even a hint of that burnt taste, replace the cartridge or if you are at home, fill it back up/top it off. After you get used to it, you can even try swapping the cart out BEFORE you get that burnt taste and keep from ever running the thing hot. After all, you are topping off the cartridges anyway so what is left isn’t waste.
If I get that burnt taste and let it go too far, I find it does help to put 1-2 drops of liquid on the atomizer screen and let it soak in for a few minutes before using again. It only takes a few drags to return to the normal taste. I carry an extra atomizer with me too. I have read it is fatal for the atomizer to be run dry so if I think it has been burned off, i won’t use it anymore until I can drip liquid on it and let it soak for a few hours.
I also take it apart and blow through the atomizer from the battery side every night and leave the thing in a paper towel overnight battery side up to let it drain out.
As you can tell, there is a medium that needs to be maintained. Don't run it out of liquid, but don't over soak it either, that will kill it too by gumming it up faster than normal.
I'm having real good luck with my atomizers now (at least in the short time I've been at this). I’ve been using 1 atomizer mostly for almost 2 weeks now and it puts off just as much as it did on day 1.

You're going to need filled cartridges and/or eliquid, your device won't make vapour if it's not got any eliquid. It sounds like you might have let the atomiser dry out.
