Default Did I break the atomiser in 1 day!?

I just receieved my e-cig earlier today, and after fulling charging a battery, i started smoking it. I was totally loving it & thought I had just purchased the best thing ever when lo-& -behold, not even 5 hours later, it started acting weird....

First off, the "flavor" started wearing off & turning into a kind of burnt-out flavor way before I thought it should have (the cartridges are supposed to be good for more than a half-pack of cigs). Also, the LED light has been flashing both quickly & slowly (staying lit-up) randomly and for no apparent reason (no the 10 times it's supposed to if the battery needs changed and whatnot). Furthermore, I've noticed that the area by the "filter" (where the atomiser is) is getting pretty hot.

Sometimes when I draw on it, no smoke comes out at all. I changed and to a brand-new cartridge & a new fully-charged battery (although it shouldn't have needed either of these yet), but the same thing is happening...

Did I already burn this thing out or did i get a bum on from the maufacturer?! I was loving it while it was working, but I've owned it for exactly 6-hours now and I think it's giving me problems. Is this normal? What should I do? This thing cost $100+, so I'm not real thrilled about the fact that it's doing this already. What am I doing wrong? Help!?

Oh...I purchased the NJOY NPRO model FYI.

I haven't actually started vaping yet (just ordered my first last night), but have spent a lot of time here over the last week or so researching.

You should check the manual for your e-cig. A flashing light usually indicates that the battery needs to be charged. I think, but may be mistaken that it can also flash when you overheat the vaporizer by hitting it too hard.

It could also be that your cartridge is spent. Did you check it to see if it was dry?

Also, keep in mind that the batteries on these devices should be charged for 4 hours, regardless of what the indicator on the charger says. IOW, just because the green light on the charger says the battery is charged, ignore it and charge for at least 4 hours a shot, and at least 12 hours for the first charge.

    Happy vaping.

Yeah, the battery was charged for a full 4hrs and I changed to a brand-new cartridge, but the same thing is happening.

As the atomiser area was getting hot, I stopped using it for a solid hour or two, and then just went to pull on it again and got one good hit, and then the same thing started happening.

    ARG!

    Hi rteishe. .welcome!

    Battery:
Led light staying on - not good!..burning the atomizer..separate them as soon as you see..
Led light flashing ..all kinds of reasons & you seem to know them

    Atomizer:
if it's getting super hot + cart is dry - burning out the atomzier
If it's getting hot only..let it cool down before vaping again..otherwise burn out the atomizer

So many details to watch out for to discern the prob..but just saying burn taste & you keep on vaping is not good for the atomizer if cart is too dry or it may be that hairs are sticking out of the cart and also causing burnt taste!

Hang in there...either way you should get replacements..

Thanks! I can't beleive that I was burning that thing already. Granted, I was using it a pretty decent amount, but still, how much use of it is too much for the atomizer to take?

I love this thing when it works, but man....it is more complicated than I'd anticipated, haha!

don't forget that the " 1 cart = 20 cigs " is utter marketing BS...

1 cart = 2-3 cigs tops...always keep the cart material moist , don't smoke it dry cause it will kill your atomizer.

I learnt that the hard way...get some eliquid and top up the cart every time you get reduced vapour/flavour...just 2 or 3 drops , don't go drowning that thing now.

If you got 5 hours on an NPRO that is weird. I own an NPRO and never got more then 3 hours on it. Sounds like you vaped it dry, I wouldn't be surprised if you toasted your atomizer. Luckily though if you contact NJOY they'll replace it and if you think your battery is defective they'll replace that too.

Regarding NJOY products...read your user manual to learn what the blinking LED lights mean. When you draw too often in a short period of time, the LED is supposed to blink. Those blinks are different than the bliks you get when the battery is depleted.

Off flavors usually mean your cartridge is nearly dry. Put in a new or re-filled cartridge and the off taste should go away after a few puffs.

I find you may need to make a few quick 'primer' puffs to heat up the atomizer before you can get a good draw. Unlike an analog cigarette, draw very slowly and try a quick inhale to force the vapor to the back of your throat.
