Default Catridge caps and Vapour strength - New User

I just received my first kit (DSE901) yesterday and was tobacco free for most of the day. I'm just trying e-cigs out but intend to switch completely once my spare batteries, ionizers and juice arrive. I smoked 1 analogue yesterday since my battery ran out .

    Anyway, couple of questions.
The cartridges have small white very soft plastic caps on them, see image, am I supposed to remove those? There's quite a bit of juice hanging on them when I remove them? I'm very wary of getting nicotine poisoning, so am having to wash my hands everytime I change a cartridge which might not be convenient in future when I'm out and about. How worried should I be about a small amount of juice on my hands?

The second question is regarding strength. I get a hell of a bite of the vapour, more so than the rolling tobbaco I normall smoke, indeed this morning when I inhaled I coughed quite hard which I dont normall do. Does this mean the carts are too strong for me and I need to switch down to a lower strength?

    Thanks for any help.

Just watched the first beginners video and he mentions the silicon cap which I'm asking about but doesn't say if you should remove that also.

Yes, you remove it. It's only there to keep the liquid from dripping out or drying up before you use it.

When I'm mixing, I end up with lots of juice on my fingers. There is no way I could stop each time to wash them. So I wash them when I'm done...sometimes this could be a couple of hours. I use 36mg nic and no problems so far. So I wouldn't worry about small amounts. Or carry some of those hand wipes with you if you're really worried about it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've just examined how the e-cig works and its fairly obvious I suppose since the atomizer has to come into contact with the wet foam in the cartridge .

Hi Googled, welcome to the forum.

The 'bite' from the vapour you mention could be due to nicotine, additives in the eliquid, temperature of the vapour, pH level or something else. Sometimes you can get used to it or find an eliquid that doesn't irritate you. Prefilled cartridges aren't usually very nice so I'd suggest refilling with different flavours and maybe lower nicotine strengths.
