While I was doing well from my quit date of March 1st, the e-cig satisfied me just fine. Then came stress majorlike on the 11th and I started cheating again with analogs. While it is still 3 to 5 cigs a day, I tend to favor my e-cig over analogs. I am just having issues with the ones I had issues with before which were mainly the morning analog and the bedtime analog. The others during the day are because they are there and the more of those I smoke the less my husband can smoke. (He was diagnosed with stage 4 non smalls lung cancer) While I wasnt really planning to quit it seems life has made that choice for me due to his diagnosis. All things considering, without the e-cigarette I wouldnt be doing as well as I am. I tried long ago to quit using patches and gums and they never worked. They never satisfied any craving unlike what the e-cigarette does.
Yes banner is off will get it fixed once I quit again.

Ease of use is another factor/or excuse depending on your thinking. Here is an example.
Yesterday I was outside working on the acreage. Bucking and splitting firewood for next winter. I smoked a couple of analogs because I could continue working while doing so. It can easily be held in the mouth with only your lips, wheras the ecig has to be clenched between the teeth.
I know, I know, no excuse, should have simply stopped for a "ecig" break.

I still smoke 3-4 analogs a day. There is a learning curve to this plus I'm figuring out how long my equipment lasts. Right now I'm rationing my liquid till Puresmoker gets back up and running then I figure I can work towards quitting the analogs altogether. For some reason I still reach for the real deal first thing in the am.

The first thing in the morning analog was the hardest to give up. We are going to Europe in May and have a non-smoking hotel booked. I knew I would have to do something before the trip. My last stay in NYC was at a non-smoking hotel. I had to put clothes on and go down 12 flights in the elevator to stand outside to smoke first thing in the morning. I can't take that again. I felt totally lost.
After a week I've finally learned to get a fresh battery and a full cartridge ready for the morning. With the help of e-cigs and you wonderful people, I think I can do this.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

I used to smoke 20 a day till Saterday when i got my e-cig now i'm on one a day over this weekend which included a BBQ and every thing!!! Still got 200 B&H on my desk... quite amazing!!! I just hope its just not a novelty thing with the e-cig (my girl friend gives me 1 week before i go back to analogs)...

Well I got down to 1 pack of analogs & was starting to do the panic thing, trying to decide if I should buy another carton while I'm still figuring out this ecig thing. So I happened to go to the casino where I usually buy them, and low and behold my sis was right. They went up 8$ a carton!!! I walked out. I made the decision I was done with analogs. So I'm hoping Steve gets back up and running soon so I can get more stuff. I got more liquid coming so I should be ok. I just need the equipment and I should be ok. So people, wish me luck! I'm ready to join your club.

I am still smoking 2-4 analogs a day, even though they no longer satisfy. I think it is part of the psychological addiction, rather than the physical addiction. I also smoked a number of analogs the day after a friend agreed to purchase my remaining 5 pounds of tobacco. It was as if I better get all I could before it was all gone.
Aside from the remaining 5 pounds, I probably have a quarter pound left, but only because I stuffed a carton and mailed it to my sister, in order to help get rid of the remaining baccy I can touch and use.
I look at it this way. I have smoked analogs for 28.5 years now. I do not believe one can overturn a habit of that length in one week, or even one month. I do beileve it will be easier once I no longer have any more baccy in this house. After 28.5 years of analogs, I believe I will have to retrain my brain to understand the nicotine now comes from vapor instead of analogs. I do not expect this to happen overnight.
Except for 3 of the past 28.5 years, I smoked ultralights exclusively. And even then, I could not tolerate smoking more than half of one stick at a time. The nic was just too strong for me. So I ordered the low level nic carts and liquids with my first e-cigs. However, even the 6 mg low nic solution was too strong for me. So I blend it half and half with 0 to leave a 3 mg solution presently, which seems to be about right. I eventually plan to blend down to 2 mg solution, then 1 mg solution.
The reason the analogs do not satisfy is because I am not smoking them to get nicotine, since the vapors provide that just fine. Additionally, the analogs no longer taste 'clean,' and leave that coating in the throat which the vapors do not. On those days where I switched back to analogs, I could not wait to get back on the vapors the next day.
Just do whatever works and listen to your body. You will no how to proceed.

I was a pack and a half a day, and I've been able to completely cut out the analogs. I still crave them sometimes, and the first one in the morning is still the toughest.

I still smoke a few a day. As I started e-smoking to be able to get my hit of nicotine where I wasn't allowed to smoke rather than for quitting the fact I've gone from a pack a day to a pack a week amazes me. I might totally quit analogues (I think I prefer the US spelling "analogs") at some point, but I'm not too bothered if I don't.

Now, after 10 days, I think I would be totally happy never having another analog. I am just worried that all the supplies from Hong Kong will dry up and I'll have to go back. I'm glad I bought 2 kits when I did. I'll just have to keep myself in juice and take REALLY good care of my batteries and atomizers until supplies are back to normal. I am assuming they will be back to normal. Please...............
