| Hello there. Another ignorant NuB here! Still on the analogues at the moment, but came across e-cigs and decided I might like to give it a try (for health reasons, but mainly for financial reasons). I was ready to go ahead and buy an e-cig I had seen on ebay about a week ago, but I decided to do a bit more research before I did.... which is how I found this site and have been ‘lurking’ about and reading since then. Great forum and LOTS of information. However, my head is somewhat spinning at the moment, since the more I read, the more questions I seem to have! Clearly, the first thing I need to decide is WHICH E-CIG?????!!!!! Obviously, I want to purchase a kit that gives a good vaping experience with a decent vapour and hit, but I also want something that feels right for me, and which I find aesthetically pleasing. For me, these criteria would be fulfilled as follows:- Size: The main concern for me is the diameter of the e-cig. I don’t mind the length + or – a few centimetres, but I don’t want something that feels too big in my mouth (I would also definitely prefer a round end, rather than an oblong one like on a cigarette holder). However, most of the sites I have looked at only give the length of the e-cig, not the diameter. I wouldn’t want anything that was larger than an analogue. I had assumed that the longer the cigarette, the wider it is, but after watching the “New, Updated, Comprehensive Intro to Vaping!” video (Thank you, Spikey!), it looks like my original assumptions were wrong! Colour: I would love an e-cig with different colour options available so that I could mix and match the body and mouthpiece (eg all-black, all white, white body/black mouthpiece, metal body/black mouthpiece, etc..... you get the idea). I definitely do not want one where the only option is a ‘cigarette’ appearance. Power: I have also been reading on these forums about the USB passthrough, and I must say that, from what I have read about the batteries, having one of these would probably be very high on my list. I also have seen brief mention of a mobile battery pack that you can plug the passthrough cable into, but I’m not sure if I am right on this. However, I have been trying to find these items on UK sites without success, so I do not know which models of e-cig these are available for. All of the above boils down to the following question: 1. Can anyone advise me if there is a model of e-cig available in the UK which: a) performs well b) has a round mouthpiece with a diameter equal to or smaller than an analogue cigarette c) has a compatible USB passthrough and battery pack available I have plenty of other questions, but I think I’ll leave this post for now.... before I write ‘War and Peace’ LOL Thanks in advance for your help! |

Hi Angela and welcome to the forums. I am very new to this myself but after much research I decided on the EVO from intellicig.com This particular ecig performs very very well for me with a great throat hit and excellent battery life. The battery lasted me a whole day (15-20 cigs). It is available in both normal cig colour and black. There are two battery sizes available as well! To answer your points: a) From my point of view it performs very well. The throat hit is great (im using Regular High Carts) and battery life seems very good. b)It has a round mouthpiece about the same as a regular ciggie c)im not sure about this but im sure if it is available it will be mentioned in these forums somewhere. I just bought an extra battery or two. Anyway, hope this helps. |

Thanks for that. Bit worried that they say that the black is 'limited edition'. I am also starting to think that USB Passthrough's are like rocking horse s***!!! |

You could also try the Pilot from e-cigs.co.uk. You can get it in either all-black or silver steel (black cartridge, gold band atomiser and silver battery). That's the same size as the EVO as they're both modified versions of the M401. Here's the link: PiLOT Personal Vaporiser : E-Cigs.co.uk, Online Store |

Thanks for the link. It looks like that seller sells the passthrough's as well (the only UK seller I've found who does), but only for the other types of e-cig they sell - not the Pilot! Therefore, I'm guessing that the Pilot doesn't have a compatible passthrough for it. I know I'm being fussy about my initial purchase, because finances are tight at the moment and I won't be able to afford to get different kits if I make a wrong initial purchase. I'll just end up putting it down as a bad idea and give up! |

correct, i've not yet seen a passthrough offered by any sites for a 401/pilot/evo. but the batteries will last you 4-6 hrs a day on those models, they're awesome. |

There's no USB cable for the M401 yet. The other device that comes to mind is the Janty Dura C but that's not tried and tested yet and probably isn't ready for use as a primary device. It hasn't got a USB cable yet either. JANTY DURA Janty Dura-C |

Angela, give miragecigarettes.co.uk a look. It's certainly not got anywhere near all your specs, but for a trouble free introduction into e-smoking you could do a lot worse. I bought my initial one from e-bay - and that was a mistake. Wish I'd gone to Mirage first. They also have really quick delivery. I'm using it now ![]() I believe that he intends adding more products in the near future.

I have been quite peased with the penstyle.. It comes in 3 different colors white black and silver.. It has a passthrough available. Its not too big for a woman and the battery lasts 6 to 8 hrs easily. Has a decent size cart, averages around 100 puffs or so and the classic is compatable with the DSE801. It has a cigarello mouthpiece instead of a round one like a reg analog. Now I thought I wouldnt like it because of that but its proven me way wrong as I couldnt see myself owning a different one. I ordered mine from puresmoker.com and while they are here in the US they may have an idea or sister supplier elsewhere in the world. Or if you found a supplier you can see if they offer the classic penstyle RN4072 or the DSE801.. Good luck on whatever you decide. |

Yeah, I think penstyle/classics are the best experience but didn't think of it here because they all have tapered mouthpieces. I love that about them now that I'm used to it. A classic with manual switch and USB cable option really is one of the best ways to vape in my opinion. What is the best penstyle? Your opinion please... 801 manual switch usb cig quick review |
