The problem is not so much the cost as much, as it is knowing you got a good supply of PG nic. Seeing how dealers can not insure a good supply, and china has now showed they are more then happy. To take 36 mg PG off the market, in hopes of the FDA will ok it for sale in the USA. The problem is the FDA and big tobacco are in bed together, and if big tobacco sees a market they will take it over. And the FDA will help them do it, big tobacco been making pure nic much longer then china. Lets do some numbers here, if each normal smoke is 1 to 2 mg into your system. 2 packs a day low end 40 mg high end 80 mg, so the numbers from that says. That 36 mg is well with in them limits, but yet they claim 36 mg is not really safe. First off I want to go from normal smokes, to ecigs because it's much better for my health. Not to just get off normal smokes, it's pretty easy to see that where ecigs are headed, to use to get off normal smokes only. |

| This ex-smoker is. I can't wait to make my own snus. I have 17 varieties, but 8 of those are Turkish. And the seeds for 6 of those I got free from the USDA. Why not? It's so easy it is mindless. Tobacco is like kudzu. It grows practically everywhere. The best part of all is, once it is harvested, you KNOW what you have got and you know it is not the Frankentobaccos made by Big Tobacco. |

Tobacco also wipes out the soil in short order, and you really need to live out in the country side, to grow any real amount of it.

I'd say grow all the tobacco u want, and if anyone wants to produce 100% pure nic and vape it or try to make their own e-juice just to save .50 cents a day. Then feel free just get your affairs in order and don't take anyone down with ya.

Guess everyone knows there's an entire forum devoted to growing your own tobacco. I'm a member. It's at How To Grow Tobacco For flavorings, everyone seems to use The Seedman. |

| It strips the soil of nitrogen. If manure can be worked into the soil in fall, it will be decomposed in time for the next season's plantings. At the level I used to smoke, I would have required 160 plants at harvest just to get through one year. With snus, I only use 4 mini portions per day, which lowers the amount of plants necessary considerably. |

But also, I am really into growing things. Tomato plants, which are also members of the nightshade family, as is tobacco, grow seven feet tall here, EVERY year. I am excited. Also, I am a customization freak. That's why I used to ryo and I can't wait to make customized snus either. What will a 100% Virginia snus taste like? What about a snus composed of 1/4 Turksih and 3/4 Virginia? How about a Turkish/Maryland/Brown and Williams low nic blend of snus? Etc and so on. And lets not even get into the possibilities of applying flavorings to any of the above tobacco blends. Growing tobacco and making my own snus is defense against any further government intrusion, defense against any future importation bans, defense against future higher tobacco taxes, a hobby I am already into, allows customization with respect to tobacco blends in the base (much like ryo did), as well as customization as far as flavoring. Additionally, I will reserve some leaf and age it for two years, so that when I have parties, I can custom blend all natural, additive-free cigarettes for any smokers who might attend. SOMEONE needs to make smokers feel welcome these days. | |
