Default To Inhale or Not Inhale: effect Nic intake?

I've been wondering whether the way you inhale effects how much nicotine is absorbed into the body.

I inhaled cigs, obviously; but I've come to enjoy just holding the vape in my mouth w/o inhaling (hurts my throat to inhale) or I do a little French inhale now...

But, didn't know if you get more nic from actually taking the vapor into your lungs...

    What do you think?

What little research is out there suggests that you absorb most of it through your mucous membranes in your mouth and sinuses. Smoking it like a cigar (rolling it in your mouth and not breathing it into your lungs) is a great way to do it, if you don't miss the much vaunted throat hit. Personally, I do a mix of both. I hold it in my mouth for a few seconds and then inhale. I also do some french inhaling from time to time.

True. The research we know about has found that an e-cig is more like Big Pharma's nicotine inhaler than Big Tobacco's Marlboro. Cigarette smoke is maximized for lung absorption; the nicotine inhaler's wispy gases never get past the mouth. Yet it gets absorbed and is used by the brain. E-cigs are like that. Mouth absorption will get the job done.

Hmm could you post the links up? This means that vapes will have very little damaging effects on the lungs...

Not necessarily. You're still putting all the ingredients of the e-fluid into your lungs when you inhale, you're just not absorbing the nicotine as much that way. The only way be sure you're not putting anything in your lungs is not to inhale at all.
