Oh Dear Kate when you put it like that it scares the hell out of me and makes me think we were all better off smoking the dreaded tabacco !! At least we knew what we were doing to ourselves ..

You know Sanj, I think that we are mostly far more educated about what we are doing to ourselves with esmoking. We question everything and then double check, not a bad thing when health is at stake. My two worries about esmoking are tainted juice and taking too much nicotine. I can keep track of exactly how much nic I'm taking in now and can adjust the potency without losing the habit. Can't do that with cigs |

Yesterday I went for 4 hours without nic in any shape or form and felt no cravings. And yes, I was quite awake. Nic having half life of around 1 hour means that after 4 hours there was only (1/2)^4 = 1/16th of the nic left in blood. That said, I'm ready to call all this nicotine addiction thing just a figment of imagination.

Users of this forum must have some very active imaginations! Suggest reading about nicotine addiction on any reputable science site. Nicotine addiction is not imaginary. |

I detest nicotine and hate myself for being unable to ditch it. There is a hard core of addicts that cannot give up, just as there is a hard core of heroin addicts that cannot give up. E-cigs are my methadone, if I thought for one moment i could break the nic habit, believe me, I would.

Perhaps it is only your imagination Jig but for many of us it is a true addiction. It sounds to me like you are very much like my hubby. He's the type of person who has smoked for most of his life but can fairly easily put them down and just walk away. He has a day or so of withdrawal but nothing major and so he can't understand why I can't do the same. As with any drug, the reactions are very different for each person and some people seem to be much more succeptible to addiction than others. While I don't think that I have an addictive personality I can assure you that I am completely and totally addicted to nicotine and caffeine. I have never been addicted to any other drug and only drink occassionally. I am not one to do many things in excess but with nicotine and caffeine I must have them to function...literally. And yes, I do grab a cup of coffee every hour...yes, even in the evenings. So, all that being said, I'm very happy for you that you do not have the dependency on nicotine that some of us have. I wish that I had that ability and could walk away from nicotine for 4 hours without any cravings or desires. Good for you! |

| Have you been reading Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking? Sounds very similar to his theory. I managed to convince myself that it was true for a while but didn't last unfortunately.

like many of you here I too am addicted to nicotine and caffiene, have been using and loving them both for 45 years. The two great loves of my life have been Mr. Nic Otine, and Miss Caf Fiene. since finding the e cigs, I still love Miss Caf Fiene as much as ever, and my new love is Master Nic Vapour master because he is still young for me, only 17 days today. After trying virtually everything on the market and pharmacy and internet for quitting cigarettes, I was unsuccessful, managing only a few hours without the warm, comforting caresses of my beloved Nic Otine. Then, I found e-cigs, I still can't believe that I have quit cigarettes, and how easy it was, is. I can still enjoy the love of my life in the form of Nic Vapour, without all the harmful side effects that Mr. Nic Otine brought to me with his delivery system of cigarette. Christmas day is going to be a doozie for me, my family are 90% smokers of the filthy cigarettes, so I think I will be the center of attraction with my e-cigs, pity I am not a rep for someone with samples. vaping e-cig, and slurping coffee, Di ...... |

scrubadub: Yes I've seen one of his videos but I don't really know what other methods he has used. I'm using some of his ideas to serve other goals. Quote:
Do you after watching a good movie for 1 hour in movie theather start sucking your finger or do you enjoy the movie till it ends? Did you take a cigarette break while watching Titanic that lasted for whipping 3 hours? There is no biological clock that says you need a fix at a given time or else... You dont want to congratulate me. I'm not trying to quit but to test the limits a bit.
