One caveat:

'Smokeless cigarettes' are neither smokeless nor cigarettes, but complicated devices that release a mixture of chemicals from a heated tobacco substrate and can emit more carbon monoxide than a cigarette [15-18].

I just wanted to point out to anyone reading this article that this is in reference to earlier smokeless cigarettes that were produced by tobacco companies and never really took off in the market, NOT to electronic cigarettes. This was written in 2005, long before e-cigs were introduced to the U.S. market.
