Default "The Ban" and your (my) addiction

    [bad dream]
So, you wake up one morning and realize the bastards actually did it. Nationwide ban on anything ecig related starts today. You've been doing your homework though and have prepared as best you can. Big tupperware bin holds the stash of hoarded atomizers and batteries, mountains of blank carts, maybe a mod or two so you have more flexibility on your power sources, nifty adapters that let you mix and match your components. Opening the full fridge crisper drawer, you think you've got enough stashed to last you a year at your current rate.

At some point, the box in the closet is going to empty of one component...maybe the juice runs out. That creeping sense of dread (remember the Oh crap, I've got one smoke left and the store closes in five minutes) comes back and you realize you have no way to kill the jones.

    [/bad dream]

My attraction to these things is the ability to cut my nicotine level down while still getting the smoking feeling...but I can see the attraction to continuing the use of a PV. So far I love it. Many of you do too...and have gotten to maybe enjoy that extra nicotine rush you never used to get with cigarettes beyond the first few times.

    Did your addiction get worse?

What happens when that day comes, and you have to look at a pack of smokes again. Think a pack of Marlboro Reds is going to give you the same hit you got vaping 60mg fluid uncut?

I'm just curious whether people have thought about this. I could see me making my addiction a lot worse if I don't exercise a lot of self control and maybe keep a notebook on how much I'm consuming. Does anyone else keep a log of some sort or do you just kind of drip and vape whenever the urge comes? How about cutting your juice...I notice a few people cut their night time juice to a lower level so they can vape more, is that common with everyone?

Lots of questions. Just ordered a Janty Stick by the way. You guys are killing me with all your reviews, I want one of each.

My wife vapes a little higher nic than I do, but we both just vape the same nic all day. Neither of us are uber-vapers. Between the two of us we go through 1 30 mL bottle a week with letting people try it some.

We hope to be able to stockpile on some more stoofs, but we're not sure what we are going to do. We both enjoy vaping and had not planned on quitting. We had *replaced* smoking and that was our desire. If and when we run out of supplies if the FDA bans everything... then we will have to quit I suppose. I hate this.

It's a very good reason to look into other forms of nicotine. The choices are not e-cigs or cigarettes. There is also snus, nasal snuff, and dissolvables. All are good sources of nicotine, in fact likely better then e-cigs, and all are considered reduced harm.

If you give yourself more options your chance of staying off the cigarettes will be vastly improved.

I could see myself riding down a dirt road in a old beat up Chevy, with a ten gallon tank under the back seat and a shotgun. According to my Grandmother it runs in the family.

I have thought about this. Im currently in the midst of figuring out how to build a mod COMPLETELY from local bought items. Nothing purchased online including batteries which seems to be my main problem.

The one thing I do miss about analogs is the ability to run to the local store and get some. I want that same convience from vaping. Maybe not as convienient, but I want to be self sufficient from local items.

    That includes
    - Batteries / parts for mod I can run up to the store to get
    - Atomizer (still havn't figured this out)
    - Juice (home brew with snus and PG)

If we can manage all this, a ban shouldn't be too much of a worry. If its just the atomizers that we all can't replicate, then that would be okay to just have to order those now. Could get a lot of atomizers for what people spend on juice/batteries/cases, etc

What would happen if you soak snus in 100proof then mix small amounts with vg and flavor.Would it work?

Ultimately I think this is the best answer. I dont think electronic cigarettes will be a criminal offense.

Is it the majority census of everyone that needing to vape nic, is as intense as needing to smoke nic????

The reason I ask, is because I tried the patches, and the gum several times and put more nicotine in my system trying to make the patches and the gum work and never found the comfort zone that lasted as well as picking up vaping nicotine at just 6mg level to be able to walk away from smoking that day,, for finding the over all comfort zone of just getting the nicotine...

I'm thinking ban or no ban,, when equiptment/ supplies that I have break, wear out, run out,,, I just not going to replace them... I'm just over time not feeling the intensity of the addiction,, it's just not the same feeling that I would kill someone for the nicotine under there fingernails like it was with smoking analogs ...

So was just wondering for the long time users how do you feel ?? is it the same intense addiction as it was for smoking analogs.

I'm still addicted still vaping and enjoying it (no one get me wrong on that lol) but I find myself not wanting to lug everything around with me to vape,, or wanting to stop what I am currently doing to go take a vape break,, and a pain in the butt lol to have to boot up my computer since I am only using passthroughs now,, just for a couple of minutes of vape time... actually less trouble to just finish what I am doing or going or what ever the get to a vape break when I can really sit down with some relax time and enjoy it....

I kind of picture the future of not having any supplies and just being able to shrub it off by then. Smoking analogs use to me my life, every waking moment it was my life,,, I don't feel that the addiction feels the same for vaping.. still enjoyable, still soothing affects,,, but not crazy , world ending chaos like analogs....

so just wondering for everyone else who has been vaping a good amount of time if the addiction feels different...

"so just wondering for everyone else who has been vaping a good amount of time if the addiction feels different... "

We've been vaping three months and yes it's different. Cigarettes had a MUCH STRONGER hold on us than our vapes. We don't obsess about when our next vape will be---cigarettes preoccupied our minds much more. Another reason it's better than smoking!!
