    Default Snus for WTA

Just wondering, among forum members who've felt that e-smoking hasn't been delivering the x-factor, WTA, or whatever you might call it, what has snus done for you?

    Good morning DVap
You know what snus has done for me.

Anyone not familiar, when vaping only I would chain 36mg averaging 3 to 4ml a day.
Using 4 to 6 portions of 8mg/portion snus a day I vape less than 1 ml, closer to 0.5ml actually, of the 36mg.

Without snus I always had a low to mid level crave for a smoke and would have 1 or 2 analogs a week.

With snus I've not had a smoke since mid October and no cravings at all.

I've had many, many failed attempts to quit cigarettes over five decades. I had used everything known to humankind -- patches, gums, lozenges, step-down filters, herbal cigarettes, Quest, fake plastic cigs, Chantix. Nothing did it. I actually quit for 85 days using snus only. But I went back.

It was a combination of snus, Stonewall dissolvables and an infrequent pipe that got me off. About five months after my July 17, 2007, quit date, I found electronic cigarettes, in the form of an e-pipe. I added e-smoking to my daily routine, using about 1 to 1.5ml of e-liquid a day.

I depend on snus and Stonewall to take care of my major nicotine needs, and e-smoking to take care of my 50-year habit.

But the pipe? If e-smoking were all I needed, I wouldn't need to puff a pipe. But I do. By using everything, I succeed day to day, looking forward to the challenge of keeping my lungs free of smoke, and my brain in an alert and relaxed state.

At this time, I don't think I could succeed without snus. I have an apartment refrigerator without six feet of my computer, stocked with tins of snus.

I'm too new at the snus to really make a personal statement but I have a lot of hope. Something has to work soon or I may lose my battle. I haven't had a cigarette since May 1st 2009 but it is a daily struggle. I'm vaping my latest brew right now, this time I have made about 20ml so I will get a better test of this method. I already have tried the snus oral version and it's too early for me to tell if that is working for me. I have a larger sample of the Swedish variety on order. Hopefully I will remember what the real me looks like if I run into him.

I one of those for whom e-cigs didn't work well at all. Never could quit smoking, and on top of that e-cigs made me feel edgy. That's the same response I get from nicotine gum. I appear to be sensitive to the lack of WTA in e-liquid.

I started with camel SNUS and things got better but still unable to quit smoking. A few days after I tried my first Swedish snus I quit smoking and have been that way for over 7 months. My PV's had been collecting dust and are now packed away and being shoveled to the back of the shelf.

Haven't tried the suppository method yet, but I guess if I really really really needed to be discreet it could be done. Perhaps some other brave soul can try it and let us know how it goes.

Had I not found out it was the missing tobacco alkaloids that I was craving and the lack there of causing my depressive state of mind, I'm sure I would have ended up using my ecig as a suppository. Every waking moment was centered on taking the edge off. Vaping absurdly high mg nic in large amounts only made me sick and left me with a sore mouth, no satisfaction, though. Snus turned it all around. Originally I was opposed to the use of snus because all I imagined was trading 1 nasty addiction for another, one that made me carry a spit bottle (eewww), make my teeth rot and give me mouth cancer. WRONG!! Swedish snus is spitless, tasty and, by all accounts and information, safe. Regulated as a food product in Sweden, even. The portions are self-contained in a pouch that sits in your cheek in a most unnoticeable way and come as potent as needed. They contain the nic and, most importantly, the tobacco alkaloids that have the ability to relax me, help me keep focas and think clearly, as well as bring my mind back to the functioning level it was before I quit smoking. All commercially available e-liquids are stripped of these alkaloids and some ex-smokers will always need them to stay functioning without the use of prescriptions or going back to smoking. In just a couple weeks I've gone from unkown amounts of weapons-grade nicotine e-liquid to only an occasional vape for the the visual effects. At stressful times when my mind is starting to demand I need a smoke (like today), I pop in a mini-portion and within minutes it works its magic and all is well. Give me a stage, DVap, and I can't say enough about the power of these puppies .

Didn't see this post till now!

Chose the 'well rounded' option, cos that's a very good description
of how they make me feel,
(at least the 'wet & strong' Thunder Frosted like ones, not the white
    dry ones).

Can keep a TF up to 5 mins under lip, enjoying the 'burn' sensation now,
bit like a nice curry effect, take it out when get the 'over-filled' nicotine feeling.

Don't even think about a ciggie for at least 2 hours (more like 4 hours),
last time that ever happened was with Zyban (Wellbutrin) a couple of years ago
(relapsed after end of the course )
and also for the first 2 months or so of vaping 36mg/ml, but that also wasn't 'enough'.

Can't take the taste of un-flavoured snus, must try & get some TF minis....

The well-being effect of TF is definately greater than anything I experienced
with ciggies (or cigars), I think it's attributable to the WTA effect,
but have no proof of that.

Cannot vote as I only just ordered some Swedish Snus and it has not arrived yet. But snuff has been helping take the edge off so I am sure the snus will also.

All I know is I do not want to ever smoke again

E-cigarettes opened the door and is the first thing that's come along in decades that enticed me and worked to a point after two times trying cold turkey and that didn't work.

But, after smoking for 40 years it was constant withdrawal symptoms the first 30 days that got worst on day 30 - shaking. It was snus that day and ever since that stopped me from going back to smoking or I know I would be.

Now it's the combination of vaping, snus, and Stonewall that works for me. No withdrawal and everything has leveled out nicely..if I could just find more good flavors.

Edit: Vaping since the end of summer, last cigarette 10/17/09

Throw out a list in the Smokeless forum of what snus you've used and enjoyed sunset. You'll get suggestions of others to try for flavor.

    mebbe I don't wanna know?
