I took Chantix for 6 months on the fist go-around. I ordered it from a Canadian pharmacy to avoid it showing up on my health insurace provider's radar, so I basically self medicated, hence the 6 month stint (I think the standard time on Chantix is 3 months). It worked well and I didn't have any noticeable side effects, other than nausea in the morning when taking the pill, which lasted about 30 minutes.

Six months later, I got off of Chantix and started smoking again a short time later. I'm not sure why I started smoking again after such a long time on Chantix, but why does anyone start smoking again? Anyway, I tried Chantix again on a second quit attempt and I was not able to quit smoking completely after the 7 day "grace period".

The third time I tried Chantix, it didn't work at all, or I didn't feel any effect, and I got off of it after 2 weeks since I intuitively felt that it was not going to work that time. So 3 strikes and I was out. It was a miracle that I saw an ad for an e-cigarette on a web site; and I decided to do a little research. I found the ECF, asked some newbie questions, ordered a Joye 510 starter kit, and I'm still smoke-free after getting my 510 kit 45 days ago.

I was on chantix for a couple weeks before i pulled myself off after suffering severe nausea. I talked to my dr again a couple weeks later, and he apologized for prescribing it to me without giving me a psych eval. I suffer from PTSD, so was more at risk for experiencing the depression and suicide side effects.

I didn't suffer anything more than the nausea, but i will agree, for the 2 weeks i was on it, i cut my smoking down to almost nothing
