My a favorite thing on Valentines Day is the dinner out. Last year we were removing old varnish from woodwork all day and did not make out out to dinner until almost closing time. We were both exhausted and smelled of paint stripper. It is one of those occasions that we do not skip in all of our years of marriage.

The roots of St. Valentine's Day can be traced back to the Roman fertility festival of Lupercalia. On Lupercalia, a young man would draw the name of a young woman in a lottery and would then keep the woman as a sexual companion for the year.

"Cupid" , or better yet the idea of Cupid was created in 1833 by a greeting card company called cupidious greeting card co.
Cupid was their mascot for the holiday one year and it made such an impact on consumers that they stuck with it! ...the rest is history!
Nah I'm just kidding. I made all that up
But Valentines day is awesome and I can't wait to spoil my gf. Lol
