I just moved back to WI after two horrible years in IL, and let me tell you, WI is LUCKY. Things down in IL are terrible. No jobs, the highest sales tax in the country, horrible unemployment and still getting worse even though the "recession is over" according to mass media. As for smoking, the entire state is non-smoking within 15 feet of any doors or windows. Its outrageous! They will really ticket you for it! I love WI and am so happy we moved back.

Uhmmmm, Get back to us in about 6 mos. If you are a Bleeding Heart Liberal, then you have found the "Promised Land". If, on the other hand, you are just a plain 'working (provided you have a job) stiff' then you will find that there is a Hell-on-Earth! btw / welcome back to Wisconsin

their was a post a few weeks back where a poster had written a letter to someone in madison, the LT gov or something along those lines about how e cigs will work with the new laws.
Anyway they wrote back saying that e cigs have nothing to do with the ban.
It turns out I read it but did not post on it so I can't find it, does anyone know if its possible to search the board?

It appears that every time there is an update on the server, the search function becomes more and more limited... You can search, but it unfortunately isn't presenting posts past the most recent.

"As most of you Wisconsinites know, a "smoking ban" will be put into effect in July of next year. This will effect your ability to smoke in businesses including bars and restaurants.
A co-worked of min EMAIL'ed our state officials to ensure that this would have no effect on those of us who partook in the joys of PV's. This is the response from the Lieutenant Governor:
You are correct in your assumption that the smoking ban will not apply to electronic cigarettes. In order for the smoking ban to apply, the smoking product must contain tobacco.
For your reference, here is the statutory definition of smoking (from Wis 101.123(1)(h) (intro.)):
"Smoking" means burning or holding, or inhaling or exhaling smoke from, any of the following items containing tobacco:
1. A lighted cigar.
2. A lighted cigarette.
3. A lighted pipe.
4. Any other lighted smoking equipment.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Truly yours,
Barbara Lawton
Lieutenant Governor
I plan on carrying a printed copy of that in my wallet. "

Not to get all political but I really can't stand when the Govt uses the old "protect the people" bit. I haven't done a lot of reading about the FDA and e-cigs but my instincts tell me that they may allow the sale of them to continue but not without making sure that the loss of tax revenue on tobacco is offset.
WI just increased taxes on cigarettes along with the fed and not for a short term quick fix.
I plan on stocking up like a survivalist.

Have you been in contact with Ban the Ban Wisconsin? Link in the OP.
They might be willing to make the trip and what better way to introduce them to the ecig than to hang out with some vapers. You never know!
