General Discussion Thread For The PIF Group.

Not sure how this will work other than being a more focused variant of chit chat (which includes a lot of general OT, but also discussion relative to PIF).

I dont know about the others, but it wouldnt hurt to put a note at the top of your offering
"items found listed on classifieds will be reported and members may be banned for doing so".
Maybe a moderator could get permission from the classies mod to ban or suspend persons who do this?

Another idea I had when I list a PIF or TC:
In order to get this, you must have made one PIF/Swap/TC donation.

Even a new person to the community should have ONE bottle of something to trade, surely? List it then grab the item you want. If its a lurker, they would know to do this just to comply.

I so wish PIF community could have a way to ID users... Like maybe put "Wouldnt you like to be a PIFfer too?" in our sigs?

Yes Mark, it's a more focused chat than the Chit Chat thread. Or at least it's supposed to be.

Actually treasure chest and pif threads are not only for members to try new things but also to help people just getting started or people with little or nothing to return. Swaps is for swaps - treasure chest is for giving.

I did note the classifieds no-no in the rules on the new TC thread. It's there for everyone to see now. I'm thinking about adding it to ALL the threads to be honest.

It's our job to see that our items aren't listed in the classies. Most of the ECF mods don't know who or what so they can't be of much help. PIF mods and members are the look out for these offenders...and we do a pretty good job...we just really need everyone to NOT: put up and shut up, but rather: report and speak up.

Until social groups are made private again...we're just going to have to do our best to keep the rules tight and keep our eyes open.

Its also a real bummer when we do see people taking advantage of the generous nature of the PIF group not only by selling items they received from pif in the classy's but also when we see people grab things they don't need or could have helped someone else much more.
