I'm actually a little afraid to try and clean the atomizer on my 401 - I followed some instructions to clean the atomizer on my 901 with rubbing alcohol and the next day it died - only had it a couple of weeks.

I've had the 401 for a little more than a week and I love it - does get a funky taste sometimes though.

    Default Atomizers

I just bought A "Blu e cig". looked great on the website. Came with a bunch of sample flavors, a great carry pack that charges your batts on the go. and two atomizers. However it Took them a month to get me the product. when i got it the batteries led light would flash on and off when i took a drag, and one of their atomizers didnt' work. The only saving grace for that company is their sweet charging pack. and the fact that they said they would exchange the bad batteries. So frustrated as hell i went online and bought a few M401 batts and atomizers. It seems like everyone on this forum is pretty happy with the m401 atoms so i hope i will be also. The atomizers are quite cheap so i say just have a few handy>.

Default M401 Atomizer Life On Batteries vs. Passthrough

    3 months experience with M401:

Atomizer life on batteries only: 24, 21, and 29 days - average 25 days till death. Current atty on batteries has been going 19 days so far. Vapor quality usually drops off in 10-14 days. Cleaning w/alcohol helps that a little.

Atomizer life on passthrough: 13, 8, 8, 7, 14 days - average 10 days till death. And that's with using it only half time (used separate atty on batteries the other half). No obvious pattern whether cleaning lengthens or shortens life, except if you try the hot burn cleaning method on the passthrough, which can quickly fry the atomizer.

Passthrough eats up cartridge liquid in a big hurry, with a lot of it wasted condensing inside the cartridge. Lots of great vapor while it lasts though. If you puff too much to use the last bits of liquid in the cart, you are likely to fry the atomizer, so I try not to let it dry out. (See info about "hot burn", above.) My conclusion: M401 passthrough provides a bit too much power.

Got a Joye 510 5 weeks ago. Using it about 50/50 with M401. Original atomizer still in excellent condition. Have cleaned it w/alcohol twice when vapor dropped off a bit and that brought it right back to life. It's great except for constantly having to change/charge batteries. Also, 510 cartridges only wick about half of the liquid out after they've been refilled 4-5 times, then the vapor gets really weak. Cleaning the wick material doesn't seem to fix this. After I get tired of topping them off all the time, I start with a new one. (I'll have to try replacing the wicks at some point.) On the other hand, I've refilled M401 carts 10-15 times and they still get all the liquid (what little it holds) to the atomizer.

    Default 403's

I have been vaping with my original batteries and attys for 3 months. I use 2 at a time and chain vape them. If my atomizer starts to get hot, I switch to the other one. I boil my attys at least once a week in distilled water to clean them and drain them on paper towels. I haven't had one fail yet.

I used my first 401 atty for about two months with no problem, until one day I was working out in the flowers and slid it in my pants pocket, and bent down. I reached in my pocket and had two peices. Mental note,,, don't do that again.

My second atty has been working like a champ for a month and a half. I haven't cleaned it, other than to blow it out every other night or so. My original batteries are still taking a nice charge and still last several hours before they need recharging.

Got a few 401 attys a while back. I didn't get any batts as I had a few dead 510's to use as connectors for box mods. Building the mod box I found out a few things, I first tried to seal the 510 connector so juice would not get into the box. It had no draw at all, I had to undo the seal on the 510 and re attach the atty wire inside so it would draw. Afterwards it is more like a real smoke then any other atty I have. So for those of you with hard draw, look at the battery not the atty. It seems to draw all the air through the end hole and not the sides. After a few weeks, it has not let a single drop through to the box mod.

At first I used the carts, what a waste. I found it hard to beleive that anyone would want a 401. I cut off the top and threw away the cart and wow, a few drips and this thing is better then my 510 mods(with carts), at least as good as my 4081 mods carts and not. You guys should really trade your dead attys for 510 dead attys and build some box mods, this thing is awesome.

I voted for one moth cause that's how long I have had this mod but it shows no signs of dying yet.
