Not to even get into the are/were debate, but...

Are the two questions "Are you a smoker," and "do you know a smoker," meant to be mutually exclusionary? As in, you EITHER are a smoker, OR you know one? Because I think most people who ARE a smoker, probably KNOW at least one other smoker. :-)

Amd for that matter, realistically, even if one is not a smoker, how likely is it that you don't even KNOW a smoker? Really? And how would you even know that for sure? Is it a useful question?

Similarly the pair of questions "I have purchased an e-cig," and "I would purchase an e-cig." I checked both. I think most of us here who have, would.

Really, I checked almost all but a couple of those. If the poll questions are soo loosely defined that people can check nearly all, it's not going to gather very good or useful data.

I could be wrong but, I still think we can work with the data. We can work out questions together beforehand for another poll or go for the "Roman forum" contest style and everyone puts up his own. I gave it a shot, I'll look at the data in a graph and table and see how it looks. Adjustments can be made for underage, non-smokers etc., based on the percentiles accordingly. I'm not a pro at this at all but I thought it would be a start. I'm happy to be bested.
I asked for this awhile back. Let's come up with THE 15 questions, agree and do it again.

See, look at these numbers, I'm not the only one to check most. These are the kind of polls that bad science data mines cherry picked "statistics" from to appear to support their ideas. "97.7% of e-smokers are of legal age!" Never mind that there isn't even an option to vote that you aren't. Never mind that this forum is SUPPOSEDLY restricted to those of legal age, so the fact that number isn't 100% throws then entire validty of it into doubt. Somebody's lying about something one way or the other, so it's all questionable.

Sorry to knock your effort, we need to gather data and I applaud the attempt. I hope you take this as constructive.

Can't do THE 15 questions. THE subject is too broad. See DC2K's example. Lots more than 15 questions, multiple choices and yues no, as appropriate, "other" options. And he still just skimmed over the subject broadly.

For 15 questions, you would have to break it down into sub-subjects. 15 questions on prior smoking, 15 questions on vaping habits, etc. And the forum poll system just doesn't let you construct it properly. Again, DC2K found a good format, try that for your next version.

Agreed. Rather disturbing; at least to me.

Ok, let's do that one, it's much, much better. There are some typos and it seems that some 1 to 10s are backwards like "...How easy was it to quit" and 10 is "extremely difficult". That's me and probably moot. Question numbers would be good too. Alphabetize flavors...

Leave it to Google! Should've known.... however: you can fill it out any number of times and submit galore, tho', answer one or answer 'em all - over and over again. Need an IP check or e-mail (kept private) and a little captcha thingie wouldn't hurt.

I would theenk dees ees a beeg problemo, no? Can this be fixed in this beta app?

    So much for scientific.

PLEASE CAN ANYONE OUT THERE DO THIS RIGHT BEFORE ROLLING IT OUT ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR?

"I have not been able to quit yet"...I took that as "not able to quit prior to vaping". Is that what you were going for, or is it redundant with "I have completely switched to e-device"? Or do you mean quit smoking analogs and e-device?

Also, the under legal age people may be those who are looking into this on behalf of an older loved one and not looking into for their own use.
